The Senior Philanthropy Specialist p rovides strategic leadership and execution for Honda's national charitable partnerships, alternative giving programs, and associate community engagement communications, ensuring a cohesive and measurable approach to community investment across the United States. Aligns cross functional stakeholders and external partners to deliver shared value that advances AHM's mission, strengthens corporate reputation, and supports Honda's long-term business and societal goals.

Key Accountabilities

Lead national and alternative charitable giving portfolio (strategy & execution) by
managing national partnerships, in-kind donations, and alternative contribution programs end- to-end.
  • Identify, evaluate, and recommend partnership and program opportunities aligned to CSR priorities, brand reputation, and community impact
  • Own annual planning, partner due diligence, approvals, contracting coordination (with Legal/Finance/Tax), and compliance requirements for corporate giving
  • Manage shared responsibility for CSR's annual giving budget ($26M), including forecasting, spend tracking, payment processing coordination, and variance reporting
  • Establish program metrics and dashboards; use PDCA to assess performance, capture learnings, and drive continuous improvement


Key Accountabilities (Continued)

  • Prepare executive-ready updates and represent the company with external partners and at select public/community forums, as needed
  • Lead charitable giving and associate community engagement communications by serving as a subject matter expert and ensuring consistent storytelling enterprise-wide internal and external channels
  • Develop annual communication plans and key messages for giving priorities, national partnerships, and HondaGO/community engagement programs
  • Partner with AHM Communications to draft, review, and publish content (e.g., internal articles, web/social assets, talking points, FAQs) and support media/event needs
  • Gather impact stories and results from partners and internal stakeholders; translate outcomes into clear narratives for associates, leaders, and external audiences
  • Lead special projects and continuous improvement for corporate contributions by supporting regional strategy development, process enhancements, and cross functional initiatives that strengthen program effectiveness
  • Support development and rollout of regional giving strategy, tools, and guidance; align local activities with national priorities and governance
  • Lead or contribute to cross-functional initiatives (e.g., sustainability/CSR reporting inputs, associate engagement pilots, data system improvements) that advance Honda's values and commitments
  • Improve processes, templates, and training for giving requests, approvals, and reporting to reduce cycle time and strengthen compliance


Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education, training an/or experience
  • Five to ten of experience in CSR, Business or equivalent field
  • Leadership experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to represent company in professional manner and strong public

  • Excellent organizational and project planning skills with attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite Proficient in donor management systems
