Overview

Job Summary

The Program Manager, Events, is a member of the Experience & Engagement program and reports to the Executive Director, Events. The Experience & Engagement program is responsible for broad-based fundraising; peer-to-peer programming; donor communications; donor marketing; and a robust pipeline of events.

 

The Program Manager, Events, is responsible for the development, management, planning, production, and delivery of program priorities within Philanthropy. The Program Manager, Events, plays a pivotal role in planning, executing, and evaluating fundraising events for Fred Hutch's Philanthropy team. This position requires a strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional experiences for donors and prospective donors to Fred Hutch.

 

Some travel and weekend and evening work will be required.

 

This position is a hybrid role with a minimum two days per week at our South Lake Union campus.

Responsibilities
  • In partnership with Executive Director, Events, and program leads, plan, produce, and deliver comprehensive event plans, including strategy, timelines, budgets, and production plan.
  • Manage and coordinate with vendors, venues, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless event execution; partner with internal stakeholders to develop audience strategies and program content.
  • Oversee all aspects of event production including producing invitations managing guest registration and seating arrangements, and management of on-site logistics.
  • Build strategic and collegial partnerships to problem-solve and strengthen programs.
  • Manage engagement and strategic growth of internal and/or external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Philanthropy leaders and partners teams to develop innovative strategies and clear goals and implement programs/projects that deliver on those goals.
  • Implement and manage all aspects and logistics of assigned projects from concept to completion.
  • Collaborate with partner teams and programs to produce deliverables.
  • Document and maintain records for historical reference and analysis.
  • Establish, improve, and/or update procedures and processes.
  • Serve as an individual contributor; this role has program responsibility but does not have people or fundraising responsibility.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Three years related experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience managing events with an auction component including auction software database management; item procurement, packaging, and fulfillment; and writing catalog descriptions.
  • Familiarity with bidding dynamics, lot cataloging, or client management in live or online auction settings.
  • Proven experience working with volunteers and volunteer committees.
  • Ability to periodically perform light lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of event materials weighing approximately 20 pounds.
  • Experience in nonprofit, research, or health care environment with campaign planning or campaign implementation experience.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Highly developed organizational and information management skills.
  • Strong attention to a high level of detail and quality of work.
  • Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively within a complex organization.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with a CRM, Raiser’s Edge/RENXT, or related fundraising software.
  • Ability to handle and respect confidential and sensitive information.

The annual base salary range for this position is from $80,172 to $114,941, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.Although Fred Hutch is not sponsoring most H-1B visas at this time, candidates who already hold an H-1B sponsored by another organization and are currently in the U.S. may be eligible for this position.Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center offers employees a comprehensive benefits package designed to enhance health, well-being, and financial security.
