Wage Range: $35.28 - $44.10 per hour.
Hours: 37.5 Hours per Week
Shifts: Days
Status: Permanent Full-Time

Job Summary

As an integral member of UHN Pharmacy Services, the Pharmacy Technician Supervisor maintains responsibility for the supervision of Pharmacy Technicians within the team, ensuring the delivery of quality and consistent pharmacy services, maintaining the standards set by the profession and the hospital, and acts as a leader, mentor and role model in the provision of pharmacy services.

Duties
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians and students; oversee scheduling, training, and performance.
  • Operational Oversight: Coordinate and monitor daily drug distribution activities to ensure the provision of safe, efficient, and effective pharmacy services.
  • Workflow Optimization: Implement process improvements and support system upgrades to enhance productivity and safety.
  • Medication Safety and Quality Assurance: Lead medication safety initiatives; ensure adherence to hospital, OCP, and regulatory standards; maintain documentation and equipment.
  • Collaboration: Partner with leadership team to resolve operational issues and maintain high-quality pharmacy services.
  • System Support: Act as system administrator for Pharmacy technology and automation.
  • Other Duties: Participate in projects and perform cross-functional tasks as assigned.


Qualifications
  • Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Program at an accredited college or recognized equivalent required
  • Registration as a Pharmacy Technician (Part A) in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists required
  • Three years practical hospital pharmacy experience required
  • Previous hospital experience with unit-dose system and intravenous admixture service, preferred
  • Previous supervisory, management or leadership experience an asset
  • Experience with relevant pharmacy systems and software an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills required
  • Self-motivated, forward-thinking, and passionate about leading collaborative, high-performing teams
