Newport News, Virginia Hiring Range $144,300.00 - $209,250.00/Annual Actual pay is determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs. Overview The Pharmacy Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the pharmacy staff in distributive functions and departmental operations with support from technician leaders, pharmacy operations manager, pharmacy clinical manager, and the director of pharmacy. This position will report to the pharmacy operations manager and have direct oversight of staff. Candidates should have excellent interpersonal, communication, customer service and computer skills and a strong desire to grow and strengthen their management and team-building abilities while contributing to the success of a high performance team. What you will do 3 Providing daily supervision of operations, coordination of work, quality of service, and team members in the assigned area(s) and serving as a functional expert. 3 Coaching and mentoring of staff to ensure high employee morale and professional atmosphere, delivery of timely feedback. 3 Participating in the accomplishment of daily work as a team member including medication order validation, communication with providers, troubleshooting/resolving customer/patient related issues, and team relationship building. 3 Maintains and completes monthly and annual reporting requirements. 3 Facilitating resolution of workflow & IT issues by partnering with key stakeholders. 3 Participating in quality/safety improvement projects, and effectively prioritize staff and management tasks. 3 Other responsibilities include evaluation of staff performance, handling disciplinary actions, providing input in budget planning, and assisting with monitoring resource utilization. Qualifications Education 3 Doctoral Degree, Pharmacy (Required) or 3 Bachelors Degree, Pharmacy (Required) or 3 Program Graduate, If a foreign graduate of Pharmacy, has completed all requirements for equivalency as outlined by the National Associate of Board of Pharmacy (NABP). (Required) Experience 3 2 years Related Pharmacist experience in related practice setting (Required) 3 1 year ASHP PGY1 residency training (Preferred) 3 Previous supervisory/leadership experience preferred (may be in an informal role) (Preferred) Licenses and Certifications 3 Licensed Pharmacist - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) within 60 Days(Required) 3 Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) - Board of Pharmacy Specialties (Preferred)
