Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator– Mary Immaculate Hospital

Job Summary:

The Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator provides oversight of pharmacy practice programs, medication use systems, and quality initiatives to detect, mitigate, and prevent medication adverse events and work to ensure medication use is aligned with evidence-based best practices and regulatory standards. The Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator works with interdisciplinary programs to deliver medication therapy management within patient care services and to ensure pharmaceutical care programs are appropriately integrated throughout the organization.

Essential Functions: 

  • Oversees medication safety and quality measure in accordance with state and federal regulatory requirements 
  • Promotes safe and cost-effective pharmaceutical care
  • Monitors drug utilization and drug shortages
  • Leads the professional development of pharmacy staff
  • Develops and maintains professional relationships with nursing and medical staff to help with education and achieving department and ministry goals
  • Other duties as assigned

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. (required)
  • Pharmacy Residency (preferred, not required)

Licensure/Certification:

  • Pharmacist Licensure – State Board of Pharmacy (required)
  • BPS Board Certification (preferred, not required)

Experience:

  • 3 years of hospital pharmacy experience (required)

Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of pharmacy systems and clinical functions and opportunities
  • Must possess skills in leadership, teamwork, communications and analytical ability
