Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Doctorate degree in pharmacy from an accredited school is required; Doctorate may be necessary for certain specialties.
• Preferred completion of residency and/or fellowship in pharmacy practice; board certification or eligibility in specialty area is desirable.
• At least three years of experience in health system or institutional pharmacy practices is desired.
• Unique experience in specific specialty areas of pharmacy practice is beneficial.
• Must hold current Wisconsin pharmacist licensure.
• BLS certification required or to be obtained within 90 days of hire; training through recognized courses is mandatory.
• Membership in relevant professional organizations is desired.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a pharmacy specialist to ensure safe and effective drug use.
• Provide information about drugs to enhance patient care
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to improve patient outcomes.
• Monitor patient responses to medications and adjust therapy as necessary.
• Educate patients and healthcare staff on medication management and safety.
• Participate in departmental initiatives aimed at improving pharmacy services.
• Stay abreast of pharmaceutical standards and changes within the field.
