Position Title

Pharmacist (Outpatient)

Job Description

Purpose & Scope:

Responsible for safe, accurate, and rational distribution of pharmaceutical agents to patients of all ages, employees, and general public as well as supervision of technical personnel. Accurately interprets and evaluates prescriptions and drug therapy, counsels patients, and dispenses medications. Coordinates work flow with other team members to ensure a productive and efficient environment. This shall be carried out with all state and Federal laws, JCHAO standards, hospital / department policies and procedures.

Education:

Graduation from an accredited school of pharmacy is required.

Experience:

One year of healthcare/medical - pharmaceutical/pharmacology experience is preferred.

Experience in Outpatient Pharmacy is preferred.

Certification/Licensure:

Licensed as a Pharmacist by the Virginia Department of Health Professions required.
