Staff PharmacistJericho Road Community Health Center is actively seeking a Pharmacist. This position is full-time, within the Pharmacy Department, working across sites our Barton and Broadway locations.
Responsibilities:- Perform and oversee the daily workflow responsibilities of dispensing pharmaceutical services including but not limited to filling prescriptions, ordering medications, delivering medications, and maintaining all appropriate records, invoices, and documentation
- Make recommendations regarding medication therapy management on a multi-disciplinary team and respond to pertinent triages through proper documentation in patients charts in EMR (Medent) system
- Perform drug utilization reviews (DURs) to establish safe and appropriate use of medications
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to utilize financial considerations for patients that may be under sourced
- Maintain electronic medical records efficiently and maximize resources
- Oversee and work with the entire pharmacy team with inventory management and compliance of the 340B program
- Oversee the correct storage and disposal of damaged and expired medications within pharmacy areas
- Monitor purchase of pharmacy supplies, including maintaining an appropriate drug inventory on hand level as determined by the Chief of Pharmacy Services and finance team
- Remain current with laws, regulations and clinical recommendations governing the practice of pharmacy
- Work with entire pharmacy team to ensure 340B compliance by assisting with inventory management
- Ability to adhere to the professional code of ethics in the practice of pharmacy and all requirements and guidelines as governed by HRSA
- Serves as a strong leader and liaison between the Chief of Pharmacy Services and staff to build good relationships to further the initiatives of pharmacy operations and create a culture of effective communication
- Oversee interview and hiring process in collaboration with HR team
- Lead Pharmacy staff members by setting a professional example as they provide support and customer service to pharmacy patients
- Conducting effective resource planning to maximize the productivity of resources (people, technology etc.).
Qualifications: - Licensed and registered pharmacist in the state of New York
- Minimum of five years' work experience in a high-volume community pharmacy setting
- Preferred experience in 340B pharmacy setting
- Preferred 1-2 years management experience in retail pharmacy setting
- Experience working with diverse, multilingual, and/or underserved populations highly desired
- Reliable transportation within the city of Buffalo and surrounding areas required
Salary Range: $125,000 - 135,000 annually. Individual compensation is based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other position related components.
