Job Overview

Pharmacist in Charge/Site Manager for Fairview Clinics and Surgery Center Infusion Pharmacy. Supports large infusion center and cancer clinic for adult patients in addition to other clinics in the building. Pharmacy hours of operation M-F 630am-6pm, Sat/Sun 7am-3pm. Staff includes clinical pharmacist, pharamcy technicians, pharmacist interns and pharmacist residents (PGY2 Oncology).

Responsible for pharmacy operations at a high volume or complex site, including compliance with state and federal regulations, budgeting, strategic planning, inventory control, personnel management, third party billing and customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for all pharmacy site operations including ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations governing the practice of pharmacy, participating in the system-wide budgeting process with direct responsibility for site budget input and implementation, accountable for appropriate scheduling to meet patient/customer needs, and accountable for maintaining site inventory control at acceptable levels.
  • Supervise and develop staff, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, orienting, training, coaching, mentoring, and evaluating employees; provide continuous performance management, complete timely reviews, and ensure staff have the skills and support needed to deliver high quality service.
  • Oversee daily workforce operations, ensuring appropriate workload distribution, efficient workflow, adequate staffing levels, productivity monitoring, cost control, and approval of timecards, while coordinating ongoing education and development opportunities.
  • Partner with the director and other leaders in developing regional strategic planning and integration efforts, including working with the director to develop and implement regional marketing efforts.
  • Responsible for local implementation of system wide quality assurance, clinical initiatives, and customer satisfaction programs.
  • Partner with vendors, hospital and clinic staff, and other business units to ensure continuity of essential pharmacy functions and accreditations.
  • Oversees complex pharmacy operations.
  • Serve as the local liaison between pharmacy and the community at large, payers, other professionals and other Fairview entities.
  • Execute the function of Staff Pharmacist.
  • Provide appropriate pharmaceutical and clinical care including patient counseling and prospective drug use evaluation to all patients receiving their medication therapy in the pharmacy.
  • Provide prescription drug therapy to patients/customers ensuring accurate labeling and dispensing of medications in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain proficiency in the skills and theory of the practice of pharmacy by reviewing literature, attending in-services, seminars and conferences.
