JOB SUMMARYThe Registered Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring the safe, appropriate, and effective use of medications through review, verification, preparation, and dispensing of medication orders in accordance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and accepted standards of pharmacy practice. The pharmacist collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes. This position supports the medication-use process, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement initiatives within the pharmacy department and organization.
JOB QUALIFICATIONSEducation: Graduate of college of Pharmacy accredited by the American Council of Pharmaceutical Education. As evidenced by an active Pharmacy License.
Licensure: Current license to practice Pharmacy in the State of Georgia
Experience: Previous hospital experience is desired, but not necessary
Skills: Ability to communicate with members of the Medical Staff and Medical Center and apply educational database to carry out job responsibilities in an efficient and proficient manner
PHYSICAL, MENTAL, ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONSWork area should be well lighted. Work schedule requires flexible and rotating hours. May be required to handle hazardous drugs. Rather demanding job requiring considerable activity and long periods of being on one's feet. Extensive amount of mental effort required. Must be able to communicate effectively.
