This position is part of a growing team in the Renewable Operations Integration (ROI) organization within the Power Generation Division and sits within the Third-Party O&M Services Team. In this role, you will facilitate and conduct day-to-day operations of the Third-Party O&M Services Team and manage the Profit and Loss of our O&M Services business. You will work directly with external customers - renewable energy site owners - to help navigate key, commercial issues and ensure compliance with our O&M Services Agreements. Internally, you will work with multiple-cross functional teams, including Legal, Accounting, Business Management, Development and Power Generation Division to support P&L analysis, contract compliance, reporting to senior leadership and customer requests / commercial matters.

Additionally, this role will support automation, standardization, and the development of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for the Third-Party O&M Services business, as well as opportunities to present portfolio insights, findings and recommendations to senior leadership.

Ideal candidate will need to be commercially minded, detailed oriented with strong analytical abilities and can approach projects with creativity and entrepreneurial thinking. The individual will interface with multiple organizations within and outside of division they support. The ability to build consensus and make quick, accurate and fact-based decisions are critical to success. Experience in a matrix environment is a strong plus, as is a high tolerance for uncertainty and flexibility to deal with unanticipated deliverables and tight deadlines.

Position Specific Duties & Responsibilities Include the Following:
  • Maintain close working relationships with customers and stakeholders
  • Conduct analyses regarding issues impacting the operating portfolio and make recommendations to management on opportunities for improvement
  • Provide budget/forecast analysis including comparisons to original budgets or prior forecasts
  • Prepare PowerPoint presentations to senior leadership on issues impacting the business
  • Collaborate effectively with multiple internal departments and external stakeholders - Engineering, Operations, PGD Cost & Growth, Third-Party Owners, Business Management, IT to present findings and drive total cost decisions
  • Extract, organize, analyze, and distill data into ready to consume insights that are useful for driving business decisions
  • Utilize Power BI to develop KPIs and dashboards for senior leadership
  • Lead and execute process improvement projects using Six Sigma principles
  • Manage internal controls processes and identify and mitigate control weaknesses
  • Develop broad technical and communication skills through self-study and internal and external training opportunities
  • Various ad hoc financial analysis as required
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Job Overview

This job assists in execution of the Corporate and NextEra Power Generation business processes. With limited guidance, employees in this role are responsible for OandM and capital budget preparation and reporting, cash flow management, and financial analysis and reporting. Individuals plan, schedule, communicate, and coordinate the annual budgeting process, the monthly re-forecasts, and month-end close for the site, and ensure that all transactions are in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley. Employees in this position also focus on the continuous improvement of spending, risks and opportunities, and costing methods in accordance with corporate policy and business objectives.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Performs all cost accounting activities including variance analysis, standard cost development, activity-based costing, and inventory control
• Provides financial leadership by supporting Operations leadership in decision-making and strategy development
• Supports new lines of business and finds ways to reduce overhead cost per job
• Provides reporting and analysis for all operations activity including productivity, capital and overhead spending, forecasting, budgeting, absorption, sales, and inventory and operations planning
• Prepares and distributes financial reports and indicators and explains financial results to non-financial audiences
• Communicates and explains operational performance through P and L
• Collaborates effectively with colleagues from all departments
• Leads and executes process improvement projects using Six Sigma principles
• Manages internal controls processes and identifies and mitigates control weaknesses
• Extracts, organizes, analyzes, and reports data in a manner that is useful and relevant for making business decisions
