Permitting Specialist - Rochester, NY - ID#7191We are seeking a
Permitting Specialist to support our growing team in
Rochester, NY. In this role, you'll play a key part in driving project excellence, collaborating with industry leaders, and ensuring high-quality outcomes across complex initiatives.
Role & Responsibilities- Review Project scope and determine applicable permits. This is inclusive of municipal building permits, variances, special use permits, agency stream, wetlands, PSC Article VII or Part 102, CT Siting Counsel, Army Corps, Natural Heritage or SHPO consultation, coastal zone development, DOT, FAA, etc
- Develop or coordinate the development of the required environmental permits.
- Manages progress against plans, performs risk assessments, and take action to mitigate risks.
- Verifies project adherence to federal, state, and local environmental regulatory requirements.
- Participates in project teams and participates in regular program/project planning, execution, and delivery team meetings.
- Represents the company at public or regulatory meetings.
- Reviews and comments on proposed laws and regulations as they apply to company operations.
- Manages or oversee implementation and inspection of wildlife, agriculture or wetland mitigation/management plans, and other regulatory requirements of permits which extend beyond construction phase of project.
- Supports the development of SWPPPs.
- Escalates issues when necessary.
- Conducts SWPPP inspections, oversees contracted SWPPP inspectors or environmental monitors, and conducts environmental inspections at construction projects.
Qualifications / Requirements- 5-7 years of experience working with environmental permits and regulatory agencies for construction, infrastructure, or energy-related projects
- Experience preparing and reviewing environmental reports, permit applications, and regulatory documents
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Salary Range for Role $75,000 to $95,000
