Permit & Compliance Manager

Lifetime Home Remodeling is seeking a highly organized, detail-driven Permit & Compliance Manager to lead the end-to-end permitting lifecycle across multiple products and jurisdictions. This role is responsible for building scalable processes, ensuring deadlines are met, strengthening compliance practices, and supporting cross-functional teams with a high level of customer service. This is a fast-paced leadership role within Operations that requires strong communication, ownership, and a relentless focus on accuracy and execution.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Team Leadership: Build strong relationships with the permit team, approve time off/timesheets in UKG, provide feedback, and ensure consistent performance and accountability
  • Process & SOP Development: Create and implement a uniform, scalable permitting process and maintain key SOPs for the department
  • Permit Lifecycle Ownership: Oversee permit submissions, tracking, documentation uploads, inspections coordination, and final permit closeout across jurisdictions
  • Quality Control & Deadlines: Ensure the team meets all deadlines and that required documents (receipts, permits, inspection results) are uploaded correctly to the CRM
  • Licensing & Compliance: Maintain and update license/compliance documentation in Salesforce; monitor regulatory requirements (example: fire zone/tempering codes in CA) and keep permit policies current by jurisdiction
  • Inspections & Issue Resolution: Manage mid/final inspections, support PMs with coordination, and drive resolution for failed inspections with urgency across the appropriate departments
  • Audits & Reporting: Audit county sites for open permits, maintain permit files, update compliance matrices, and develop reports that track timelines and budget impacts
  • Communication & Stakeholder Management: Serve as a key liaison between departments, remove roadblocks, communicate "jobs on hold," and provide weekly updates to the Regional Procurement Director/Procurement Manager
  • Expense & Cost Controls: Maintain accurate expense reports (weekly submission to accounting) and ensure permit costs are reflected properly in project cost tabs
What You Need
  • Systems & Tools: Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel), CRM/company systems, and smartphone business applications
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required
  • Experience (Preferred): 2+ years replacement windows experience and 2+ years managing processes preferred
  • Core Strengths: Strong customer service, ability to multi-task, problem-solve, prioritize, and maintain accuracy in time-sensitive workflows
  • Work Style: Self-motivated, strong planning/organization, excellent documentation, adaptable to departmental needs, and willing to work extended/irregular hours when required
