As Performance Marketing Manager, you will own DX's paid acquisition channels and website conversion engine. You'll develop and execute paid media strategy to hit aggressive lead generation and revenue targets, while also owning on-site conversion rate optimization, because in this role, driving traffic and converting it are equally your job.
This is a hands-on ownership role: you are the full owner-operator of DX's paid Google and social program, from strategy through daily execution. You'll be building and testing campaigns, rebuilding landing pages, running experiments, and reporting on performance with a clear point of view on what to do next. You'll work closely with the Managing Editor and PMM team on messaging alignment, and with the ABM team on account-level coordination.
Responsibilities What you'll do:Why this role matters
Every dollar DX spends on paid media and every landing page we ship has a direct, measurable line to revenue. This role doesn't hand off after the click: you own the full visitor-to-lead journey. You'll have real authority over budget allocation and your recommendations get implemented.
PrioritiesBudget & spend management
Manage a $600,000+ monthly ad budget across Google Ads and LinkedIn Ads, with full accountability for spend efficiency and return
Continuously review performance and reallocate spend based on results
Build dashboards and provide regular performance reports tracking spend, CPL, cost-per-opp, and pipeline contribution, with clear recommendations on where to increase, decrease, or reallocate
Run scenario models and forecasts to support budget planning
Audience targeting & segmentation
Own ongoing refreshes of audience targeting and segmentation to reach the maximum amount of net new engineering leaders, building and refining active audience segments by role, company size, and industry
Run account-based targeting covering DX's top target accounts, plus lookalike, retargeting, and intent-based segments aligned to DX's ICP
Set and monitor saturation guardrails; test new adjacent or lookalike audiences to discover new prospects before existing segments saturate
Build audience suppression rules to prevent wasted spend on existing customers and disqualified leads
Campaign & creative execution
Launch new campaigns tied to product releases, research publications, signature events, and other major marketing moments
Refresh ad creative on an ongoing basis based on performance data
Update ad keywords, creative, and copy for cutting-edge and high-velocity terms
Own attribution strategy and tagging standards
Conversion rate optimization
Own the conversion rate of getdx.com, from landing page to form fill to qualified lead, rebuilding key landing pages to maximize conversion
Run structured A/B and multivariate tests on headlines, CTAs, form fields, page layouts, and social proof elements
Optimize the full visitor journey (ad landing page form thank you nurture), partnering with the demand gen, research, and product marketing teams to keep landing page copy aligned to ad messaging
Monitor site-wide conversion metrics: visit-to-lead rate, lead-to-MQL rate, page bounce rates, and form abandonment
