Marketing Manager, Performance & Growth

Location: St. Charles, Missouri Work Arrangement: 100% On-Site Travel: Up to 20% Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt

Salary Range: $90,000-$110,000 annually

We are seeking a results-driven Marketing Manager, Performance & Growth to lead our paid digital marketing efforts and help accelerate customer acquisition, retention, and revenue growth.

Position Summary

The Marketing Manager, Performance & Growth owns and optimizes Propper's paid digital marketing channels while helping influence organic search, technical SEO, conversion, and customer-retention initiatives.

This is a hands-on role for an analytical marketer who understands how media investment, audience strategy, website performance, product data, and customer behavior work together to drive profitable growth. The position will manage campaign performance, budgets, reporting, agencies, and platform partners while collaborating across marketing, ecommerce, content, analytics, and technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

Paid Media and Customer Acquisition
  • Own and manage paid media programs across Google Search, Google Shopping, Google Performance Max, Microsoft Advertising, Meta, paid social, programmatic display, and emerging digital platforms.
  • Support affiliate marketing and influencer partnerships as part of the broader customer-acquisition strategy.
  • Develop and execute bottom-of-funnel strategies focused on customer acquisition, conversion, retention, and revenue growth.
  • Manage campaign budgets and allocate spending toward the channels, audiences, and initiatives producing the strongest returns.
  • Continuously improve customer acquisition cost, return on advertising spend, lifetime value, conversion rate, and overall marketing efficiency.
  • Develop and execute A/B tests involving creative, audiences, offers, landing pages, bidding strategies, and campaign structure.
  • Use first-party customer data and advanced audience segmentation to improve prospecting, retargeting, re-engagement, and retention.

Analytics, Attribution, and Reporting
  • Establish channel-specific KPIs and own recurring reporting for all managed digital channels.
  • Monitor performance trends, identify growth opportunities, and translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Analyze GA4 data, including traffic quality, channel attribution, engagement, conversion performance, landing-page effectiveness, and customer behavior.
  • Identify and investigate bot traffic, invalid traffic, tracking discrepancies, and other issues that may affect reporting accuracy.
  • Partner with internal and external technical resources to maintain reliable conversion tracking and digital measurement.
  • Monitor Google Tag Manager and help ensure marketing tags, events, pixels, and conversion tracking function as intended.

Ecommerce, Product Feeds, and SEO
  • Manage and optimize product feeds used across paid shopping platforms.
  • Help ensure product titles, descriptions, categories, pricing, availability, images, and other feed attributes are accurate and structured to support campaign performance.
  • Manage and monitor Google Merchant Center, including product approvals, feed errors, account health, and shopping-program requirements.
  • Collaborate with SEO, content, and ecommerce teams to increase qualified organic traffic and improve conversion rates.
  • Support technical SEO initiatives involving Google Search Console, structured data and schema, indexing, crawlability, site health, and organic search performance.
  • Identify website and landing-page opportunities that can improve the customer journey and marketing conversion rate.

Retention and Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Partner with the email and SMS marketing team to strengthen retargeting, re-engagement, retention, and customer-lifetime-value strategies.
  • Work across SEO, content, ecommerce, affiliate marketing, influencer marketing, analytics, creative, merchandising, and technical teams.
  • Provide performance insights that help guide promotional planning, creative development, product priorities, and digital merchandising.
  • Ensure acquisition and retention programs deliver a consistent customer experience across digital touchpoints.

Agency and Vendor Management
  • Manage relationships with external agencies, advertising platforms, technology providers, and marketing vendors.
  • Establish clear expectations, monitor partner performance, coordinate projects, and resolve campaign or technical issues.
  • Ensure outside partners remain accountable for deliverables, budgets, timelines, and business results.
  • Stay current on developments in performance marketing, attribution, privacy, measurement, technical SEO, artificial intelligence, and digital advertising technology.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business Administration, Ecommerce, Data Analytics, Communications, or a closely related field required.
  • Minimum of three years of hands-on experience managing paid digital marketing campaigns, preferably in an ecommerce, direct-to-consumer, apparel, consumer products, retail, or omnichannel environment.
  • Demonstrated experience directly managing campaign strategy, execution, budgets, optimization, and performance reporting.
  • Experience working with external agencies, technology partners, or digital marketing vendors preferred.
  • Experience supporting an established consumer brand or managing campaigns across both ecommerce and wholesale environments is a plus.

Required Knowledge and Skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Google Ads, Google Shopping, Performance Max, Microsoft Advertising, Meta Ads Manager, and paid social platforms.
  • Experience using GA4 to evaluate traffic, attribution, engagement, conversions, landing-page performance, and customer behavior.
  • Working knowledge of Google Tag Manager, conversion tracking, pixels, events, and digital measurement infrastructure.
  • Experience with Google Merchant Center and ecommerce product-feed management.
  • Understanding of customer acquisition cost, lifetime value, return on advertising spend, conversion rate, attribution, and marketing contribution to revenue.
  • Working knowledge of Google Search Console and technical SEO concepts, including indexing, structured data, schema, crawlability, and site health.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn data into clear recommendations and measurable action.
  • Experience developing dashboards, reports, and presentations for marketing and business leadership.
  • Strong budget-management, project-management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across creative, analytical, commercial, and technical teams.
  • A continuous-improvement mindset and a strong interest in testing, measurement, optimization, and profitable growth.

Work Location and Travel

This position is based at Propper International's St. Charles, Missouri location and requires working on-site 100% of the time. Remote and hybrid work arrangements are not available for this role.

The position requires up to 20% travel for business meetings, agency or partner collaboration, industry events, and other company-related activities.
