Full Job Description
The City of Edmonton's Parks and Roads Services (PARS) branch is looking for a Method Analyst II to join the Technical and Regulatory Services section. Reporting to the Planning and Monitoring Supervisor, you will lead complex operations analysis. By developing an in-depth understanding of day-to-day activities this role is bridging the gap between financial and performance metrics. You will turn raw system data into forecasting models, trend analysis as well as develop and implement intuitive, accessible and scalable tools that give leadership clear, real-time visibility into operations. Ultimately, by identifying operational gaps and streamlining procedures, your work ensures city resources are used efficiently to improve overall service delivery and vital infrastructure for Edmontonians.

What will you do?

  • Lead the creation, maintenance, and integrity of data within SAP and other backend systems to ensure a reliable foundation for all analysis
  • Develop and maintain intuitive dashboards and metrics to track branch KPIs, providing real-time visibility into operational health
  • Identify and resolve operational gaps by conducting work-method studies and facilitating workshops with program leaders to develop practical solutions
  • Design data collection systems and models that translate technical data into clear recommendations for improving overall service delivery
  • Collaborate with Finance and Business Analytics to resolve data issues and support budget development through cost analysis and resource forecasting
  • Facilitate workshops and engagement sessions with program leaders to identify and solve resource management challenges


Qualifications:

  • Education: University Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience: Minimum of five (4) years of progressively responsible experience in business analysis, operational research, project management and/or scheduling/planning. Experience in a municipal or large-scale public sector environment is preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with SAP Plant Maintenance


Assets:

  • Experience in SAP PM configuration and integration points with SAP MM and FICO
  • Demonstrated cross-functional skills in Materials Management and Financial Supply Chain Management
  • Professional business or technical accreditations related to data and information management


Skills required for success:

  • Advanced proficiency in tools like Tableau or Power BI to turn complex datasets into intuitive, user-friendly dashboards
  • Strong command of SAP (or similar ERP systems) with the ability to manage data creation, maintenance, and integrity
  • Expert-level Excel or Google Sheets skills for building complex forecasting and trend analysis models
  • Hands-on experience with GIS to integrate geographic data with operational and financial metrics
  • Practical experience applying methodologies (like Lean or Six Sigma) to identify and fix operational bottlenecks
  • Strategic & Systems Thinking: The ability to see how small data gaps impact the "big picture" of city-wide service delivery
  • Strong emotional intelligence and the ability to facilitate workshops, lead engagement sessions, and translate technical findings for non-technical leaders
  • A keen eye for data accuracy and a "detective" mindset for spotting discrepancies in backend systems

Up to 1 permanent full-time position

Hours of Work: 33.75 hours per week.

Salary Range: $51.611 - $65.218 (Hourly); $90,925.680 - $114,897.810 (Annually)
