Responsibilities

Role Summary

The People Technology Senior Specialist - Total Rewards owns the administration, optimization, and ongoing support of Workday Total Rewards-related modules, including Compensation, Benefits, Payroll support, Time Tracking, and Absence Management. This role serves as the technical center of excellence, partnering closely with Total Rewards, Payroll, WFM Operations, and Strada (in-tenant payroll AMS) to deliver reliable, compliant, and scalable solutions across compensation cycles, benefits enrollment, time and attendance, and leave administration.

Key Responsibilities

Workday Compensation
  • Configure and administer Workday Advanced Compensation, including salary, bonus, equity, and commission plans.
  • Lead technical execution of annual and off-cycle compensation cycles, including worksheets, eligibility rules, approval workflows, and reporting.
  • Partner with Total Rewards on compensation structure changes, market adjustments, and pay equity initiatives.

Workday Benefits
  • Configure and maintain benefit plans, eligibility rules, calculations, and deductions.
  • Lead technical setup and execution of annual open enrollment, including testing and issue resolution.
  • Administer qualifying life events and support ACA reporting and regulatory compliance.
  • Partner with Benefits and vendors on plan changes, rate updates, and carrier implementations.

Payroll, Time, and Absence
  • Serve as technical liaison between People Technology, internal Payroll, WFM Operations, and Strada.
  • Support payroll configuration, integrations, and year-end activities (e.g., W-2s, tax updates).
  • Administer Workday Time Tracking and Absence Management, including accruals, leave plans, overtime rules, and payroll integration during leaves.

System Support & Optimization
  • Participate in Workday releases, testing cycles, and upgrades related to Total Rewards.
  • Provide tier-2 support, troubleshoot integrations and data issues, and support audits and compliance requests.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, process guides, and training materials.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally on system implementations and continuous process improvement.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Strong hands-on experience configuring Workday Compensation and Benefits.
  • Working knowledge of Workday Time Tracking, Absence, and payroll integrations.
  • Experience with Workday business process configuration and workflow design.
  • Advanced Excel skills for analysis, reconciliation, and reporting.

Preferred: Workday certification (Compensation, Benefits, or Payroll). Project management experience or certification.

Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Finance, or related field. 5-7 years in HRIS or Total Rewards systems roles, including 3-5 years of hands-on Workday experience.

Other/State Specific

This role pays between $120,000/Yr to $135,000/Yr, and your actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, responsibilities, experience, and location.
