What we offer

We're excited to offer an opportunity for a People & Culture Generalist to join our team. This role provides hands-on People & Culture support to our GTA Construction and Warranty Site Operations teams, partnering closely with leaders and employees across multiple construction and warranty locations.

This is a highly visible, field-facing role that partners closely with frontline leaders and site teams. You will act as a trusted advisor on day-to-day HR matters, including employee relations, full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and policy interpretation.

The role requires regular travel to construction and warranty sites, balancing on-site presence with office-based work. Experience supporting employees in a unionized environment, including interpreting and applying collective agreements, is essential.

What you'll do
  • Serve as the first point of contact for People & Culture matters for GTA Construction and Warranty Site Operations, including employee relations, onboarding, performance management, and day-to-day HR support.
  • Advise and coach site leaders on the application of HR policies, collective agreements, employment legislation, and best practices in a fast-paced, operational environment.
  • Lead and support the prompt resolution of employee relations issues, conducting investigations where required and implementing proactive measures to reduce risk and recurring concerns.
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for site-based and warranty roles, including workforce planning support, interview facilitation, and onboarding coordination.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with frontline employees, supervisors, managers, and union representatives, fostering a respectful, safe, and supportive work environment.
  • Actively support employees and leaders through change, workforce transitions, and organizational initiatives impacting site operations.
  • Contribute to broader People & Culture initiatives and projects, partnering with the wider HR team to deliver consistent practices across the GTA.
  • Stay current on employment legislation, labour relations trends, and HR best practices, particularly as they relate to construction, field-based, and unionized environments.

What you bring
  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3 years of Human Resources experience, including supporting unionized workforces and interpretation of collective agreements.
  • Strong working knowledge of Ontario employment legislation and employee relations.
  • Proven full-cycle recruitment experience, ideally in construction and site-based environments.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills with frontline leaders and employees.
  • Practical, solutions-oriented approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in HR systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Willingness to travel regularly to Construction and Warranty sites across the GTA.

Bonus points
  • HR experience in a field-based/operational environment (construction, warranty, trades, or similar)
  • CHRP/CHRL designation (completed or in progress)
