Overview

Girard, a Univest Wealth Division, is looking for a Pension Advisor to join our team in Allentown. In this role, you'll serve as a trusted consultant and investment liaison for municipal pension clients, helping build strong relationships, deliver meaningful market insights, and support the long-term success of the plans we serve. Responsibilities

Serve as a pension consultant and investment liaison for municipal clients.

Attend investment and consulting meetings as requested to review performance reports and provide market commentary.

Act as process owner for reports outlined in GPS consulting agreements.

Maintain and strengthen client relationships through meetings, professional associations, networking opportunities, and Univest-sponsored events.

Coordinate with actuarial firms to facilitate cost studies, ordinance reviews, and other complex client requests.

Ensure compliance with asset allocation models and Investment Policy Statements (IPS), including implementation and documentation of new or revised IPSs.

Oversee the preparation and distribution of periodic pension plan performance reports.

Accountable for compliance with laws and regulations that apply to this position including the Univest Code of Conduct.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Preferred 5+ years of experience in managing municipal pension plans or working as a local government or pension auditor.

Experience in a relationship management role serving as the primary liaison with clients, preferably institutional relationships presenting investment materials and market and economic insights.

Excellent communication skills: communication, verbal, and written.

Presentation skills to people or a large group.

Self-starter with the ability to set priorities, manage duties, and exceed client expectations.

Series 7, 66, or 63/65 registration or the ability to quickly obtain credentials.

A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or related fields; a CFA designation, a master's degree, or an MBA is preferred.

Wage Range:

The annual salary for this position ranges from $85,000-$100,000.
