Job Summary

The Section of Hospital Medicine at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children is seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) BC/BE Pediatric Hospitalist (MD or DO).

Clinical responsibilities will include direct patient care with teaching and supervision of pediatric residents and medical students exclusively on our inpatient teaching service (no in-house night coverage). Over time, this hospitalist will also be asked to perform patient safety event reviews, lead patient safety initiatives, collaborate to develop pediatric resident quality and patient safety curricula, and participate in mentorship of residents in their quality improvement research.

Faculty appointments are available through our primary teaching affiliate, the Drexel University College of Medicine, with additional opportunities to teach learners through our partnerships with Temple University School of Medicine and other regional academic programs.

Requirements:
  • A commitment to a career in Pediatric Hospital Medicine (PHM) and a passion for caring for medically underserved patients in a resource-limited practice setting
  • Experience caring for hospitalized children
  • Excellent clinical teaching and mentorship skills
  • Experience in quality improvement, patient safety, and/or clinical research methodology (or an interest in receiving mentorship in those skills)
  • BC/BE in PHM or General Pediatrics
  • BLS and PALS certification
