Job DescriptionThe Registered Nurse provides expert professional nursing care; assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the care rendered to patients with urgent, emergent or potential health problems; utilizes knowledge of basic nursing principles, practices, ethics, and concepts; participates in the organization and management of the practitioner's practice; maintains positive relationships with patients, patient family members, other visitors, and fellow employees. Provides strong patient advocacy and liaison to the community.
Required Skills- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, infection control and safety.
- Thorough knowledge of chemotherapy regimens and pharmaceuticals for treatment.
- Expansive knowledge of hematology/oncology processes and practices.
- Superb understanding of nursing principles.
- Excellent understanding of patient/family teaching principles.
- Knowledge of Electronic Health Records(EHR) computerized practice management systems and other computerized systems (Microsoft office programs and electronic health records systems)
- Ability to prioritize and problem solve both independently and with a team.
- Excellent communication skills, bilingual in Spanish or Chinese helpful.
Required ExperienceRequired:- Current California RN license
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
Preferred:- Minimum 2 years Oncology experience in hospital and or office based setting
- Current chemotherapy
