Full Job Description
Under the direction of the Emergency Department Director or Vice President, is responsible for the organization, implementation, development and physician alignment necessary to provide world class patient services, establishing and sustaining a patient-centered focus and through that focus, achieving the administrative, clinical and financial goals established by Parkview Health, and in concert with all Parkview Health partners, physicians and other leadership. Is responsible for operational and clinical areas as assigned.
Assumes day-to-day responsibility for process, performance improvement and patient safety activities as they relate to nursing and ancillary personnel involved in the care of pediatric ER patients. Partners with the Pediatric Medical Director in the oversight of the Peds ER program which includes and is not limited to: financial management of the Pediatric ER, development and implementation of clinical protocols and practice management guidelines; providing educational opportunities for staff development; monitoring performance improvement activities :monitoring and developing patient safety and pediatric education; serving as a liaison to administration; and representing the pediatric ER program on hospital, local, regional, state or national committees to enhance pediatric ER care, develop policies, and oversee the program.
Education
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required. Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program preferred.
Licensure/Certification
Valid Registered Nurse License required for the State where services will be provided. Must have current CPR certification.
Experience
Must have five years progressive clinical experience in health care field; 2-3 years of demonstrated leadership experience. Previous emergency nursing and pediatric experience preferred.
Other Qualifications
Must have good verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
