Full Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Manager with experience in the home healthcare or related industry to join our team. This position will play a critical role in overseeing the payroll function across multiple states for employees and contractors, while also keeping patients first, having empathy and a focus on employee well-being. The Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely payments to employees. This role requires a keen attention to detail, in-depth knowledge of payroll laws and regulations, and the ability to manage payroll systems and staff. The Payroll Manager will play a key role in maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws, while contributing to the overall operational efficiency of the company and its multiple locations. This position will be at a Resource Center level, servicing employees throughout the country. In the event the company transitions to a new payroll system, the Payroll Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely payment to employees and contractors. This position will work closely with HR, IT, and Finance departments to ensure a seamless transition, troubleshoot any issues, and help optimize the payroll system. Qualifications 3 Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. 3 5+ years of experience in payroll management, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role in the home healthcare or related industry. 3 Prior experience with payroll system migrations, including working with external vendors and IT teams to implement new systems. 3 Strong knowledge of payroll processing. 3 Proficiency with payroll software and MS Office Suite; experience with UKG or similar systems is highly desirable. 3 Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to troubleshoot complex issues. 3 Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with employees and teams across multiple locations and states. 3 Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications: 3 Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification. 3 Familiarity with HRIS systems and integration with payroll platforms. 3 Experience with automation and process improvements within payroll operations. Responsibilities Payroll Processing: o Manage and oversee end-to-end payroll processing for all employees, including but not limited to salary, hourly, and contract employees. o Ensure accurate and timely submission of all payroll data, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. o Review and verify timecards, employee records, and other payroll-related documents for accuracy and completeness. o Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding payroll-related inquiries, including pay discrepancies, deductions, and tax information. Compliance and Reporting: o Ensure compliance with all relevant payroll laws, tax regulations, and industry standards. o Monitor preparation and filing of all required reports, including tax filings, wage reports, and year-end documentation by payroll service. o Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations, advising the business on any necessary changes or adjustments to processes. Team Management and Training: o Supervise and support the payroll team to ensure efficient processing and high-quality customer service. o Provide training and guidance to the team on new payroll systems and processes. o Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries from employees, HR, and other departments. Continuous Improvement: o Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, increase efficiency, and reduce errors. o Collaborate with IT to implement system enhancements that improve payroll accuracy and functionality.
