ABOUT THE POSITION

Job Title: Payroll & Accounting Specialist
Employment Type: Exempt - FT
Location: Seattle, WA; New York, NY; Fort Lauderdale, FL (Hybrid, 3 days/week in office)
Salary Range: USD 80,000.00 - 110,000.00 plus annual discretionary bonus

We are seeking a Payroll & Accounting Specialist to play a crucial role in administering and processing the firm's global payroll and compensation processes. This Payroll & Accounting Specialist will ensure that salaries, wages, bonuses, and incentives are processed accurately, timely, and in compliance with company policies and applicable legal and regulatory environments. The Payroll & Accounting Specialist is part of the Human Resources team and works closely with the Finance team.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex processes in a fast-paced, global environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Administer and process global payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate with global payroll providers in France, UK, UAE, Australia, Japan, and others to support accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Manage relevant payroll provider relationships.
  • Maintain and communicate annual payroll calendar.
  • Maintain and update payroll records, including: salary changes; federal, state, and local taxes; exemptions; insurance coverage; deductions; and other necessary records.
  • Prepare compensation-related journal entries and update and maintain the underlying calculations and analysis.
  • Work closely with the Finance department to reconcile compensation-related accounts and ensure that all financial transactions are accurately reflected in the company's accounting system.
  • Respond to employee queries regarding payroll issues and provide accurate information and guidance.
  • Ensure compliance with international, federal, state, and local payroll, wage, hour laws, and best practices.
  • Work closely with the US payroll provider to ensure accurate state tax filing, reporting, and compliance.
  • Keep abreast of current trends and best practices in compensation and payroll accounting.
  • Recognize issues and escalate through appropriate channels.
  • Responsible for ad-hoc Human Resource projects and assignments.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with general accounting concepts required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll, compensation accounting, or other related experience.
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and numerical abilities.
  • Operate with the highest level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly explain complex financial information.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders.

The base salary offered will be determined by variousfactors such as geographic location, relevant experience, education, andqualifications.
