What does a successful Payments Gateway Engineering Advisor do at Fiserv?A successful Payments Gateway Engineering Advisor supports and advances the MPI and Concert gateways that manage credit and debit card transactions between card issuers and the DNA core banking platform. This role designs, develops, and maintains reliable software applications that help ensure transaction efficiency, platform stability, and strong client outcomes. The role also works across teams to deliver technical solutions that align with business goals while strengthening overall development quality and team capability.
What you will do?- Lead the design, development, and implementation of software applications that support business goals and the ongoing evolution of MPI and Concert gateway solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications for card transaction processing capabilities.
- Perform coding, testing, and debugging to ensure applications deliver strong performance, reliability, and efficient credit and debit transaction processing.
- Maintain and improve existing codebases while leading peer review processes to strengthen software quality and consistency.
- Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance to build team capability and support successful solution delivery.
What you must have?- 8+ years of software development experience.
- 5+ years of experience with Java, C, C#, C++, or similar programming languages.
- 5+ years of experience with SQL databases, cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and CI/CD and DevOps practices.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or 8+ years of equivalent education, related experience, or military experience.
What would be nice to have?- 5+ years of experience in the financial services industry.
- 5+ years of experience working in Agile delivery environments.
- 2+ gateway platforms supported or developed in a transaction-processing environment.
You must currently possess valid and unrestricted U.S. work authorization to be considered for this role. Individuals with temporary visas including, but not limited to, F-1 (OPT, CPT, STEM), H-1B, H-2, or TN, or any candidate requiring sponsorship, now or in the future, will not be considered for this role.
This is a full-time, direct-hire position, and no contract options for unsolicited agency submissions will be considered.

Salary Range$128,000.00 - $216,000.00
These pay ranges apply to employees in New Jersey and New York. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.

For incentive eligible associates, the successful candidate is eligible for an annual incentive opportunity which may be delivered as a mix of cash bonus and equity awards in the Company's sole discretion.
