Project Overview: The Walsh-VINCI Transit Community Partners (WVTCP) Joint Venture consisting of VINCI Construction Grands Projets and Walsh Construction has been selected to construct the $2.9BN Design Build Red Line Extension (RLE) project - the largest civil construction contract ever awarded by the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA). The RLE Mainline Design-Build (MDB) Project will extend the CTA's Red Line by 5.6 miles, extending from the existing terminal at 95th/Dan Ryan south to 130th Street and Doty Avenue.
Responsibilities: As the
Pay Application Engineer on the $2.9BN Red Line Extension Project (RLE) in Chicago-Illinois, you will be responsible for managing and processing monthly pay applications. This role involves ensuring accurate and timely submission of pay applications through the Schedule of Values, coordinating with project stakeholders, and maintaining compliance with contract requirements.
Pay Application Management:
- Prepare and submit monthly pay applications in accordance with the Schedule of Values.
- Ensure all pay applications are accurate, complete, and submitted on time.
- Review and verify subcontractor and supplier invoices for accuracy and compliance with contract terms.
- Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and budgets based on pay application data.
Coordination and Communication:
- Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather necessary documentation for pay applications.
- Communicate with the client and project stakeholders to address any questions or concerns related to pay applications.
- Facilitate meetings to review and discuss pay application status and issues.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of all pay applications, invoices, and related documentation.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on pay application status and progress.
- Ensure all documentation is properly archived and accessible.
Compliance and Quality Control:
- Ensure all pay applications comply with contract requirements and project standards.
- Perform quality control checks on pay applications to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Address any discrepancies or issues in pay applications and implement corrective actions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills: Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or a related field.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in preparing and reviewing pay applications.
- Ability to identify and resolve issues in pay applications effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Fluent in English with professional proficiency
Preferred:
- Experience in pay application management or a similar role within the construction industry.
Salary Range: $95,000.00 to $100,000.00
Work Environment: - Required to stand, sit, walk, and/or climb stairs or ladders.
- Involves a dynamic and challenging work environment.
- Office-based role with regular visits to active construction sites.
- Exposure to noise, weather, and typical construction conditions.
- Fast-paced environment that may require long hours.
- Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, and reflective vests when on-site
