Description:

Patient Care Director - Surgical Oncology – 7HS – FT – Days

You will oversee operations at the New York Presbyterian Columbia Hospital, fostering a culture of teamwork, communication, and respect. Drive quality and performance improvement initiatives and assist in creating new processes. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team that is at the top of their fields.  Now, you have the opportunity to join us and make a difference. As the Patient Care Director, you will also manage patient care delivery in the hospitalist units, serving as a clinical resource and administrator in the absence of unit leaders or when care-related issues arise. In this fast-paced environment, you will facilitate efficient and cost-effective daily operations in relation to patients throughout, including admissions, discharges, and transfers. You will promote a culture of safety and quality by ensuring continuity and consistency in implementing established standards, protocols, policies, and procedures. In collaboration with the Director of Nursing, the Patient Care Director will set the unit's short and long-term goals to align with the hospital's overall strategic goals. Additional responsibilities include monitoring staff for compliance with regulatory, hospital, and divisional requirements.

This is a full-time day position at NewYork-Presbyterian/ Columbia University Irving Medical Center.

Preferred Criteria

  • Experience working in Medicine/Med-Surg
  • Previous leadership experience
  • American Nurses Credentialing Center approved national board Certification
