Job Description Summary:
Faegre Drinker has an opportunity for a Patent Docketing Specialist to work with our Intellectual Property team in our Minneapolis, downtown Indianapolis, Philadelphia, Denver, Fort Wayne, or Wilmington, DE office. You will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the intellectual property docketing system through data entry, audit and review. This position will work with other talented individuals who share a passion for doing great work in the best interest of our clients.

Job Description:

What you would do:
  • Review incoming and outgoing domestic and international patent correspondence, enter/clear dates in docketing system, and forward to legal personnel as needed
  • Open and review all incoming electronic and paper mail
  • Scan and save mail to applicable matters in document management system
  • Verify that correspondence has been docketed correctly by team members
  • Compile and circulate docket, statistical and audit reports
  • Conduct periodic audits of active matters to confirm integrity of docketing system
  • Report on and follow up with legal personnel regarding upcoming deadlines
  • Collaborate with team members to review processes and procedures and to implement improvements
  • Special projects and duties as assigned

The anticipated initial hourly rate for someone who is hired into this position is $36.75- $41.00/hour based on a 37.5 hour a week schedule.

Actual initial hourly rate may be above or below the above-identified range and will be based on the relevant skills, training, experience, and other job-related factors, including the location where the position is filled, in all cases consistent with applicable law. This is a non-exempt role paid on an hourly basis. The initial hourly rate listed above is just one component of Faegre Drinker's total compensation and benefits package for professional staff, which includes, but is not limited to, a discretionary bonus; life, health, accident, and disability insurance; and a 401(k) plan.
