Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • Reporting to the Chief Intellectual Property Officer, provides support to the Office of Technology Transfer in management of its intellectual property portfolio.
  • Responsibilities include preparing and prosecuting patent filings, developing and implementing offensive and defensive IP strategies, conducting various patent searches, conducting limited freedom-to-practice evaluations, preparing or obtaining appropriate opinions and providing timely counsel on intellectual property issues.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
  • Advanced degree in discipline related to specialty area and two years of experience in patent prosecution, a law firm or corporation.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
