Full Job Description
Partner, Human Capital M&A Solutions! - Multiple Locations: Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta or San Francisco

The Practice:

Aon's Human Capital M&A team partners with organizations undertaking global transactions and business transformations, including M&A, divestitures, IPOs and joint ventures. We bring deep global expertise - spanning global benefits, compensation, employment, talent, organization design, culture, due diligence and integration, workforce planning, HR risk assessments, and other strategic people-related projects - to help clients successfully navigate complex deals and transformations. This role reports to the Human Capital M&A Leader, North America.

What the day will look like

The Partner will be based in North America and will be accountable for driving the strategic direction, operational effectiveness and financial performance of complex human capital solutions for clients undergoing significant change events. The Partner will be a senior leader in the Human Capital M&A consulting profession, with deep knowledge across multiple HR fields (e.g., global benefits, compensation, talent, employment, organization design, culture, workforce planning) and a strong understanding of Aon's core businesses. We are looking for leadership that is encouraged by deep content expertise, strong commercial judgment and a desire to drive growth in a fast-paced, deal-focused environment.

The Partner will develop, nurture and maintain executive-level relationships and serve as a trusted advisor to many of Aon's most important clients. Partners at Aon have the capability and expertise to serve as overall engagement leaders and executive sponsors for large, sophisticated, multi-functional client assignments, coordinating across multiple stakeholders, partners and workstreams. This is also a hands-on role where you will take ownership, prioritize the work, and roll up your sleeves on a technical level - from structuring Human Capital M&A workplans and HR due diligence through to designing integration, separation, value creation and value capture plans across the HR operating environment.

Skills and experience that will lead to success
  • Establish and sustain trusted relationships with senior client partners, including C-suite executives and HR leaders.
  • Demonstrate strong executive presence and facilitation skills to lead complex, multi-workstream client engagements and deal programs
  • Exhibit deep knowledge of the complexities and risks associated with global M&A transactions (including diligence, planning and execution across buy-side, sell-side, carve-outs and joint ventures)
  • Convey deep experience and subject matter expertise of Total Rewards and other sectors within the Human Capital space (e.g., global benefits, compensation, talent, HR operating model, culture, organization design, workforce and location strategy).
  • Own the development, commercialization and scaling of differentiated Human Capital M&A solutions, ensuring market relevance, client value, delivery quality and sustainable profitability
  • Connect human capital priorities to transaction objectives, value creation and risk mitigation, and translate strategy into executable workplans
  • Communicate complex human capital and deal issues as clear, actionable recommendations for senior client and Aon leaders
  • Collaborative and highly engaged, able to lead and work effectively with cross-functional teams across Aon and within client organizations
  • Accountable and self-aware, with strong ownership, sound judgment and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, results-focused environment
  • An influencer who can drive alignment and decision-making across diverse collaborators in both client and internal settings
  • Drive profitable growth through business development, thought leadership, cross-solution collaboration, opportunity origination, proposal development and new client acquisition
  • Mentor and develop colleagues across the practice, helping build the next generation of Human Capital M&A leaders through coaching, feedback and sponsorship!

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Business Management, Human Resources or other relevant fields
  • Typically 12+ years of relevant consulting and/or industry experience, including significant exposure to global M&A or other complex transaction and transformation environments
