As the PDM Lead Venture Capital & Private Equity, you will have the unique opportunity to help scale our Venture Capital & Private Equity Program globally. You will create, refine, and optimize a strategy designed to grow engagement of Drata’s usage within the startup and growth equity space. You’ll work closely with Drata community development, marketing, sales, and other teams at Drata to create a model in which the best startups in the world can thrive on our platform, specifically through the use of discounts and partner engagement strategies. You have a data-first approach and will be expected to continually test, observe, and refine your efforts to improve how we engage with and support our partners.

What you’ll do:

The ideal candidate will have a deep business development background, with the network, credibility, and know-how to engage at both the senior executive level of Drata’s fastest growing partners and founders of startup companies. Have you founded a company before? Have you spent time investing in early stage companies? This is a great opportunity to apply many of these traits and skills. You will have a unique ability to earn trust and work cross-functionally within the Drata organization and directly with VC/PE partners and startup leaders. You will have a keen sense of ownership, drive, and competitive fire to build a program from the ground up.

  • Play a key role in developing a strategic approach with major VC and PE firms in the startup ecosystem and work closely with their portfolio companies to help them scale with Drata
  • Define the partner model and GTM plan and launch new engagement model for highly aligned Drata partners 
  • Define target partner segments, identify the best route to market, capacity and coverage planning, and identify key milestones
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to gain agreement on the GTM plan, so that it will have support for funding and implementation multiple internal organizations including sales, marketing, services, and product marketing/management organizations
  • Execute on demand generation activities throughout Drata’s prospect and existing customer base
  • Continually improve the process for developing and delivering the way the partner model is taken to market

What you’ll bring:

  • 3+ years of business development, corporate development or venture capital background
  • MBA or equivalent executive-level experience a plus
  • Deep experience and knowledge within the startup ecosystem as a founder, investor, or advisor
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency, discriminate between critical and non-critical requirements, and prioritize tasks accordingly
  • Provide proactive, meaningful insight & identification of long-term or overall aims and interests and the means of achieving them. Clear and directly face the strengths and weaknesses, as well as external opportunities and threats
  • Uses a framework or process by which to make decisions. At times, will need to make decisions quickly and often with incomplete data
  • Bring others to their point of view using your strong communication skills, logic, data, emotion and presentation skills. 
  • Being willing to answer for the outcomes resulting from their own choices, behaviors, and actions. Take ownership of situations that they're involved in

Requirements:

  • 3 + years of experience
  • Worked for a VC or PE firm 
  • Bay Area or NYC location

This role will receive a competitive base salary, variable compensation, benefits, and stock, typically in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The applicable range of On-Target Earnings (OTE) for each US-based role is based on where the employee works and is aligned to one of 3 tiers based on the cost of labor for that geographic area. The expected OTE ranges for this role are set forth below, subject to change. 

Tier 1: $127,500 - $157,500

Tier 2: $114,800 - $141,800

Tier 3: $102,000 - $126,000
