Job Title: Paralegal

Pay Range: $83,156.00 - $117,458.00 per year

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

A typical day as a Paralegal looks like:
  • Draft pleadings: Prepare guardianship petitions, notices, and other legal documents.
  • Review documents and respond to Subpoenas for documents and information, including redacting documents.
  • Physician coordination: Work with doctors to secure timely, accurate clinical certifications.
  • Court liaison: Follow up directly with Court staff to track case statuses and hearing dates.
  • Long length of stay (LOS) coordination: Distribute weekly updates for LOS meeting.
  • Subpoena responses: Assist attorneys in reviewing and responding to subpoenas.
  • Board matters: Gather evidence and draft responses for state licensing board inquiries.
  • Legal Research: Perform legal research as needed.
  • Communication: Communicate with court staff, clients, family, and interested parties in guardianship matters.


To be considered for this role you must have:

Bachelor's degree or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program required. Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in a law firm, preferably with guardianship and/or personal injury experience. Experience with drafting pleadings to be submitted to the court and reviewing medical records. Experience with responding to Subpoenas for documentation and/or information. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities from multiple attorneys in a fast-paced environment. High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. Experience with document management systems e.g., iManage, DocuSign, etc. Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism when dealing with confidential and sensitive matters. Collaborative and proactive approach. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in litigation and/or working in a law firm environment. Exposure to personal injury and/or guardianships. Working knowledge of AI-enabled legal tools or experience in and/or interest in supporting digital innovation in legal workflows.
