Role Specific Details

This individual will provide legal and administrative support to the Labor & Employment ("L&E") Legal team for Alaska Air Group (AAG), which includes Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, Horizon Air and McGee Air Services. The role will assist with a wide range of assignments, with a focus on supporting the L&E attorneys in administrative support, subpoena handling, pre-litigation, and litigation matters.

Role Summary

The Paralegal supports Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines Legal Division matters across labor and employment, litigation, regulatory, immigration, ethics and compliance, and related areas. As an individual contributor, the Paralegal coordinates matter work, organizes information, conducts legal and factual research, assists with discovery and case preparation, and responds to requests from internal and external partners.

Key Duties

Paralegal - P2
  • Provides administrative and legal support across assigned Legal Division matters, including tracking deadlines, gathering information and documents, and organizing files.
  • Assists with arbitration, pre-litigation and litigation matters by supporting discovery, organizing case materials, tracking deadlines, and coordinating meetings.
  • Supports investigations, demand letters, agency charges, and advice and counsel matters by gathering records, preparing summaries, and coordinating follow-up.
  • Tracks and supports responses to subpoenas, records requests, and other information requests, escalating legal or procedural issues as needed.
  • Supports immigration and employee benefits matters by collecting documentation, tracking milestones, coordinating communications, and maintaining records.
  • Conducts factual and legal research using tools such as Lexis, Westlaw or Bloomberg and prepares results for review.

Senior Paralegal - P3
  • Provides advanced administrative and legal support across assigned Legal Division matters, using independent judgment to manage work, prioritize deadlines, and escalate issues.
  • Manages discovery and case support for arbitration, pre-litigation and litigation matters, including document collection, deadline tracking, and logistical coordination for meetings, hearings, depositions and trial preparations.
  • Supports investigations, demand letters, agency charges, and advice and counsel matters by gathering information, preparing draft materials, tracking timelines, and coordinating follow-up.
  • Prepares responses to subpoenas, records requests, and other information requests by reviewing requests against statutory, regulatory or other legal requirements, assessing scope of responsive documents, requesting and preparing responsive documents, identifying risks, and partnering with attorneys on response strategy.
  • Coordinates immigration matters with outside counsel, hiring managers, and foreign national applicants and employees, including documentation, milestones, communications, and records.
  • Conducts factual and legal research using tools such as Lexis, Westlaw or Bloomberg and prepares summaries, chronologies, and supporting materials for attorney review and matter strategy.

Paralegal - P2

Required
  • Two years of paralegal or related experience.
  • Works independently on assigned matters, prioritizes work, escalates issues appropriately, and uses discretion with confidential information.
  • Communicates clearly with attorneys, legal professionals, business partners, employees, and leaders.

Senior Paralegal - P3

Required
  • Four years of paralegal or related experience.
  • Independently manages complex or sensitive matter support, prioritizes competing deadlines, anticipates next steps, and uses sound judgment with limited direction.
  • Communicates complex information clearly with attorneys, legal professionals, senior leaders, business partners, outside counsel, government entities, and third parties.

Required at All Levels
  • Bachelor's degree, or an additional two years of relevant training or experience in lieu of degree.
  • Paralegal certificate from an American Bar Association (ABA)-accredited program, or equivalent in-office legal training.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, make sound decisions under pressure and hit the ground running in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and litigation-related systems, including e-discovery, invoicing, billing, and matter management tools.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum age of 18.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Salary Range

$71,150-$149,800 / year

Pay Details

The pay varies by location and experience level.

Honolulu - Paralegal $71,150 - $88,950

Honolulu - Senior Paralegal $90,750 - $136,150

Seattle - Paralegal $78,300 - 117,450

Seattle - Senior Paralegal $99,850 - 149,800

Salary Details

Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Hawaiian/Horizon employees. Alaska/Hawaiian/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.

Note: We don't typically hire at the top of the range.
