YOUR PROJECT ASSIGNMENTTEICON ENGINEERING is currently hiring for a large-scale industrial process plant construction project in Beaumont-Port Arthur metropolitan area. We are seeking site-based professionals for immediate engagement to support active execution activities within a complex industrial environment.
- Project Location: Beaumont-Port Arthur metropolitan area, Texas
- Start Date: As soon as possible
- Contract Type: Fixed-term employment or independent contractor (1099)
- Duration: Through December 31, 2026, with the option to extend
- Working Hours: 50 hours per week on site, with an optional six-hour Saturday shift when required
- Site Allowance for Non-Local Personnel: USD 191 per calendar day spent on site during the first 90 days and USD 162.35 per calendar day spent on site from the 91st day through completion of the assignment
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES- Supervise and coordinate scaffolding, painting, coating, corrosion protection, and insulation activities within an industrial plant construction environment.
- Ensure that all soft craft activities are executed in accordance with project specifications, approved drawings, method statements, schedules, quality requirements, and applicable codes and standards.
- Coordinate contractors, subcontractors, and site crews, including daily work planning, workforce allocation, progress monitoring, and the prioritization of work fronts.
- Monitor surface preparation, painting and coating application, insulation installation, and scaffolding erection, modification, and dismantling to ensure proper execution and compliance with project requirements.
- Verify that scaffolding activities provide safe and timely access for construction, inspection, testing, and handover activities while minimizing interference with other disciplines.
- Coordinate interfaces with Piping, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Civil, Quality, and HSE teams to ensure efficient work sequencing and the timely release of work areas.
- Conduct regular site inspections, identify construction and quality deficiencies, document deviations, and coordinate the implementation of corrective actions with the responsible contractors.
- Monitor compliance with HSE requirements, work permits, risk assessments, personal protective equipment requirements, and the protective measures established for soft craft activities.
- Review contractor progress reports and provide structured updates on progress, manpower, equipment resources, quality, safety, schedule risks, and areas of concern to site management.
- Participate in construction meetings, contractor coordination meetings, inspections, walk-downs, and formal acceptance activities for the assigned disciplines.
- Serve as the Handover System Owner for the assigned soft craft scopes and ensure that inspections, checklists, certificates, completion records, and other required handover documents are entered and maintained correctly.
- Monitor completion status, coordinate the recording and clearance of punch-list items, and ensure the proper handover of completed work areas from Construction to Commissioning or the plant operator.
- Support the resolution of construction, engineering, quality, and interface issues in close coordination with site management, engineering, quality, and the affected disciplines.
- Ensure that project documentation and records for scaffolding, painting, coating, corrosion protection, insulation, inspections, acceptances, and handover activities are complete and filed correctly.
YOUR PROFILE- You have completed technical or trade education in Industrial Coatings, Insulation, Scaffolding, Mechanical Construction, Construction Management, or a comparable field, or you possess equivalent qualifications gained through extensive industrial site experience.
- You have several years of hands-on experience as a Painting, Coating, Insulation, Scaffolding, Soft Craft, or Site Supervisor on industrial plant construction or heavy industrial projects.
- You have strong practical knowledge of painting and coating systems, surface preparation, corrosion protection, industrial insulation, and scaffolding activities.
- You are experienced in supervising contractors and multicultural site teams and are confident in coordinating several soft craft disciplines simultaneously.
- You are familiar with construction quality requirements, inspection processes, acceptance documentation, punch-list management, and the structured handover of completed work.
- You have experience working with electronic completion or handover systems and understand how inspections, checklists, certificates, punch-list items, completion status, and turnover packages are managed.
- You are confident in reading and interpreting technical drawings, P&IDs, plot plans, specifications, coating and insulation schedules, method statements, and contractor documentation.
- You have a strong safety mindset and experience working under strict HSE requirements, particularly in relation to work at height, scaffolding, coating activities, hazardous substances, and access coordination.
- You communicate clearly and professionally in English and are able to report progress, deficiencies, risks, and required corrective actions in a structured manner.
- You are willing and able to work on site in the United States for the full assignment period, including extended hours and optional Saturday work when required.
