Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What Is the Opportunity?

This role is eligible for a sign-on bonus.

LOCATION REQUIREMENT: This position services Insureds/Agents in the San Gabriel Valley and Northeast greater Los Angeles area. The selected candidate must reside in or be willing to relocate at their own expense to the assigned territory. Ideal locations include El Monte, San Gabriel, Rosemead, West Covina, Covina, Glendora, Azusa, La Puente, East Los Angeles, Montebello, Burbank, Simi Valley, Santa Clarita, and surrounding areas.

As a Claim Rep, Outside Property, you will be responsible for managing, inspecting, evaluating, negotiating, and settling 1st party property claims in a timely and accurate manner which includes performing in-person inspections at customers' residences and properties to accurately assess damages. In this detail-oriented and customer-focused role, you will work closely with insureds and representatives to ensure claims are resolved efficiently while maintaining a high level of professionalism, empathy, and service throughout the claims handling process. This position is based remotely with work at residential and/or commercial locations with a combination of mobile work, work from your primary residence, or the nearest Travelers office. This position services a territory in areas of . You must either reside in or be willing to relocate at your own expense to assigned territory.What Will You Do?
  • Review, investigate, and document 1st party property claims under limited supervision. Typically, will handle personal insurance claims with limited supervision and higher authority and begin to handle business insurance claims with direct supervision.
  • Gather information from policyholders, claimants, and third-party vendors.
  • Investigate and evaluate all relevant facts and information (including but not limited to analyzing leases, contracts, by-laws and other relevant documents which may have an impact). Determine and apply coverage for property damages per policy terms.
  • Establish accurate scope of damages for building and contents losses and utilize as a basis for written estimates and/or computer assisted estimates, with guidance from management.
  • Provide timely and professional communication to customers, representatives, third-party vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Negotiate with multiple constituents, i.e., contractors or insured's representatives with guidance.
  • Maintain accurate records of claim activity in claim management systems.
  • Adapt to new technology implementations, system upgrades, and digital tool rollouts, particularly in the areas of AI while maintaining productivity and service quality.
  • Acquire and maintain relevant Insurance License(s) and/or a UAS Remote Pilot Certification to comply with federal, state, and Travelers requirements within three months of starting the job.
  • Assess and inspect all areas of a dwelling or structure, including roofs, attics, crawl spaces, and other confined areas. Ability to carry, set up, and climb ladders weighing approximately 38-49 pounds.
  • May require extensive travel, including overnight stays, to support customers across multiple locations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to manage stress, navigate difficult situations, and maintain composure and professionalism under pressure while always taking accountability for decisions.
  • Basic understanding of insurance principles and terminology, state insurance regulations and claim handling requirements.
  • Ability to quickly learn from experience and apply it to new situations with speed and flexibility.


What is a Must Have?
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • One year of property or comparable claim related experience or successful completion of required Travelers Claim Representative training program.
  • Valid driver's license.
