Full Job Description
Location: Remote - Mid-Central Region (Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana, Illinois, and Colorado). Southern states preferred. Travel is required.

As an Outreach Lead Account Specialist, you will support commercial and industrial utility programs, working closely with utility clients, trade allies, service providers, customers, industry associations, and ICF implementation teams to bring energy efficiency solutions and bill savings to customers throughout the Mid-Central Region.

The successful candidate will be highly organized, customer-service oriented, comfortable with public speaking, and able to build productive relationships across a geographically dispersed market. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple outreach priorities are key.

The Outreach Lead Account Specialist will lead regional outreach initiatives to increase participation in utility-sponsored energy efficiency programs, identify new program opportunities, support service provider and trade ally engagement, facilitate training and market education, and track outreach outcomes. This position requires travel of at least 25% of the time, depending on assignment location and program needs across the eight-state Mid-Central Region.

What you will be doing:
  • Conduct outreach to existing and potential customers, service providers, trade allies, contractors, distributors, manufacturers, and industry associations to drive program awareness and participation.
  • Build and maintain relationships with commercial, industrial, agricultural, institutional, and public-sector customers throughout the Mid-Central Region.
  • Serve as a regional point of contact for outreach activities supporting utility-sponsored energy efficiency programs.
  • Identify and attend industry events, including expos, trade shows, counter days, association meetings, customer events, and networking opportunities to represent utility rebate and energy efficiency programs.
  • Develop and execute regional outreach and engagement strategies aligned with client goals and program objectives.
  • Coach and train trade allies, service providers, customers, community partners, and internal support team members on program requirements, application processes, participation best practices, and available technologies.
  • Create and deliver presentations, workshops, webinars, and trainings for customers and market partners; coordinate with marketing teams on messaging, outreach materials, and customer-facing resources.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination between customers, trade allies, service providers, utility clients, and ICF delivery teams.
  • Track outreach activities, leads, customer engagement, market feedback, and participation metrics using CRM and program management systems.
  • Support reporting teams by helping assemble reports, presentations, dashboards, outreach summaries, and database updates using Microsoft Office products and program-specific software tools.
  • Monitor progress toward participation, customer satisfaction, and engagement goals; identify barriers, risks, opportunities, and lessons learned to support continuous program improvement.
  • Provide ongoing utility client support, including meeting participation, planning support, program reviews, customer engagement updates, and other client communications as needed.
  • Stay informed on industry news, market trends, emerging technologies, program updates, and customer needs across the Mid-Central Region.


What we need you to have (minimum qualifications):
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Environmental Studies, Sustainability, Energy Management, Public Administration, or other relevant field or
  • In lieu of a degree, equivalent professional experience in energy efficiency, utility programs, customer engagement, sales, outreach, marketing, account management, or trade ally/service provider support.
  • 3+ years of experience in one or more of the following: utility energy efficiency programs, account management, customer engagement, business development, community outreach, trade ally management, service provider engagement, or program implementation.
  • Customer-service oriented attitude with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including comfort with public speaking and presenting to groups both virtually and in person.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check.
  • Must be willing and able to travel at least 25% of the time, depending on assignment location and program needs across the eight-state Mid-Central Region.


What we would like you to have:
  • Experience with and knowledge of energy efficiency, utility programs, electrification, demand response, sustainability, or commercial energy technologies.
  • Experience working with commercial and industrial customers.
  • Experience working in or managing a trade ally/service provider network.
  • Experience working in or around the trades, including HVAC, lighting, controls, building automation, refrigeration, compressed air, process improvements, or other energy-saving technologies.
  • Experience scheduling, organizing, and facilitating trainings, webinars, workshops, customer events, or industry events.
  • Experience working with CRM tools, customer tracking systems, databases, reporting tools, or program management software.
  • Experience supporting utility clients and/or regulatory-driven programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote and geographically dispersed environment.
  • Bilingual in English and any other language is a plus.

Compensation: Although the posted range below is broader, this position is anticipated to offer a base salary in the $90,000-$95,000 range.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:
$89,222.00 - $151,678.00
