ANTICIPATED HIRING RANGE: Starting salary upon appointment is not expected to exceed $5,540 per month

CSU CLASSIFICATION SALARY RANGE: $5,540 - $7,893

POSITION PURPOSE: Under general direction of the Director of Outreach and New Student Programs, the Outreach Coordinator is responsible for the development, implementation, coordination, and continuous assessment of comprehensive outreach, recruitment, and enrollment initiatives designed to increase access and enrollment of prospective students. The incumbent exercises independent judgment in planning and executing recruitment strategies, identifying opportunities to strengthen enrollment pipelines, developing collaborative partnerships, evaluating program effectiveness, and recommending improvements that enhance prospective student recruitment and enrollment outcomes. The position also provides lead work direction to professional staff and student assistants, supports international recruitment efforts, and manages assigned budgets.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Outreach, Recruitment, Enrollment, & Partnership Development

  • Independently develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate comprehensive outreach, recruitment, enrollment, and partnership strategies to support undergraduate and transfer enrollment goals.
  • Represent the university at college fairs, recruitment events, high schools, community colleges, community-based organizations, and other educational venues.
  • Conduct presentations, workshops, and information sessions for prospective students, families, counselors, educators, community partners, and international stakeholders regarding admissions requirements, academic programs, financial aid, and student support services.
  • Coordinate recruitment initiatives targeting diverse student populations, including first-generation, underserved, transfer, and special population students.
  • Develop, cultivate, and maintain collaborative partnerships with K-12 schools, community colleges, educational agencies, community-based organizations, and recruitment partners to strengthen enrollment pipelines and expand access to higher education.
  • Collaborate with academic colleges, student affairs departments, financial aid, admissions, and campus partners to develop and implement recruitment programs aligned with institutional enrollment priorities.
  • Represent the university on educational advisory committees, community organizations, regional recruitment networks, and partnership initiatives.
  • Develop communication plans, marketing strategies, and outreach materials designed to enhance prospective student engagement and enrollment conversion.
  • Coordinate large-scale recruitment programs, yield activities, campus visitation programs, enrollment events, and special outreach initiatives.
  • Advise prospective domestic and international students regarding admissions requirements, application processes, enrollment procedures, and pathways to student success.
  • Analyze recruitment, outreach, and enrollment trends to identify opportunities for growth and recommend strategic enhancements.
  • Monitor and assess recruitment and partnership outcomes, identify program strengths and gaps, and implement data-informed improvements to support institutional enrollment objectives.

Lead Work Direction & Staff Coordination

  • Provide lead work direction, training, and day-to-day coordination for outreach counselors, support staff, and student assistants.
  • Coordinate schedules and logistical support and assist with assigning and monitoring recruitment initiatives, event coverage, and outreach activities.
  • Develop training materials and facilitate onboarding for student ambassadors and outreach personnel.
  • Monitor work quality and ensure consistency in customer service, recruitment messaging, and program delivery.
  • Serve as a resource to staff regarding admissions, recruitment strategies, and student service practices.
  • Recommend improvements to operational procedures and outreach processes.

Budget Administration & Data Collection

  • Track and monitor outreach and recruitment budgets, expenditures, and program costs.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and prepare budget reports as requested.
  • Coordinate purchasing, travel expenditures, contracts, and event-related expenses in accordance with university policies and procedures.
  • Assist with forecasting resource needs and identifying cost-effective recruitment strategies.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret recruitment, outreach, and enrollment data to evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Generate reports and dashboards to support enrollment management decision-making.
  • Assess recruitment activities and recommend data-informed improvements to outreach strategies.
  • Monitor progress toward enrollment goals and prepare periodic reports for campus leadership.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE - Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in a related field, including or supplemented by upper division or graduate course work in counseling techniques, interviewing, and conflict resolution where such are job-related and equivalent to three (3) years of progressively responsible professional student services work experience. A master's degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, or a directly related field may be substituted for one year of experience. A doctorate degree and the appropriate internship or clinical training in counseling or guidance may be substituted for the three years of experience for positions with a major responsibility for professional career or personal counseling.

LICENSES - Possession of a valid driver's license or the ability to obtain by date of hire.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A master's degree is highly preferred from an accredited university.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant post-bachelor's experience with outreach, recruitment, and enrollment.
  • Demonstrated skills in an institutional/educational environment possessing a customer-oriented and service-centered attitude.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: LIGHT WORK - involves mainly sitting, up to 25% standing or walking; lifting medium weight objects limited to 25 pounds.
