About the Job

MedStar Washington Hospital Center is seeking a full-time Outpatient Adult Psychiatrist to join our multidisciplinary behavioral health team in Washington, D.C. This is an excellent opportunity for a psychiatrist interested in providing comprehensive outpatient care while working alongside a collaborative team of mental health professionals.

Our program takes a multidisciplinary approach to mental health care, bringing together psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, clinical counselors, psychiatric nurses, and other members of the care team to address the needs of the whole patient.

The ideal candidate will have an interest in outpatient psychiatry and enjoy working in a collaborative environment with opportunities to contribute to a growing academic health system.

Position Highlights

Call Schedule

The call commitment is designed to provide reasonable coverage while maintaining a strong outpatient focus:
  • One weeknight of call every two weeks
  • Two weekend days approximately every eight weeks
    • One weekend day includes a 24-hour shift
    • The second weekend day involves rounding on patients and leaving afterward
  • One holiday per year
