Job Description

General Summary:

The Orthotic/Prosthetic Digital Technician assume responsibility and accountability for the digital preparation, design and model rectification of orthotic/prosthetic devices using CADCAM and 3-D printing.

Essential Job Functions:
• Retrieves, manipulates, and prepares anatomical files for CADCAM/3-D printing
• Applies appropriate force application and alignment based on patient data (radiograph, clinical assessment)
• Applies targeted material thickness for orthotic/prosthetic designs to improve stability of the device
• Applies targeted material relief to protect soft tissue from design interface
• Develops efficient and repeatable digital design workflows for specific orthotics/prosthetics applications
• Prepares and executes CADCAM set-up (finalized file, validate carve radius, foam block preparation, alignment and finished product)
• Reviews clinical outcomes with clinician to optimize design of orthoses/prostheses
• Partners with clinical staff to verify appropriate prosthetic/orthotic design/alignment
• Remains current on latest technology and material science as it applies to CADCAM/3-D printing
• Oversees maintenance and cleanliness of CADCAM/3-D printing equipment and overall work environment
• Performs file manipulation using appropriate software
• Prepares and executes 3-D printer set-up for Multi Jet Fusion (HP) and filament style printers
• Assists manager and director with material selection, inventory management and ordering
• Applies manufacturer's conditions of use.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Experience preferred
• Bachelor's Degree (Preferably Engineering)
• Experience with CAD/CAM and 3D printing
• Advanced computer skills
• Certification in CPR from the American Heart Association by completion of the BLS AED Heartsaver Course within 90 days of initial hire.

Pay Range
$65,520.00-$107,120.00 Salary
