Responsibilities

Full Job Description
Position Details:
Join a highly collaborative, APP-led orthopaedic team where you'll enjoy meaningful autonomy, strong physician partnership, and the opportunity to practice across the full spectrum of orthopaedic inpatient care. Work alongside 4 experienced APPs supporting 9 orthopaedic surgeons first-assisting in the OR, pre- and post-operative care, ED and inpatient consults. Gain diverse exposure to joint arthroplasty, sports medicine, trauma, hand, and spine while working in a culture that values teamwork, professional growth, and colleague support.

Role: Open to Physician Assistants or Acute Care Nurse Practitioners in orthopaedics
Location: 71 Haynes St, Manchester, CT - Manchester Memorial Hospital
Setting: Inpatient, orthopaedic surgery
Schedule: Full-time, rotating with night shifts being call from home. Premium differentials offered.

Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioner Role Scope:
Under established guidelines and in collaboration and/or supervision with the practice physician(s), Advanced Practitioners perform routine physical examinations, and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treat patients.
In consultation with the physician(s) and care team members, Advanced Practitioners develop plans for further evaluation of health needs, e.g., referral to other health team members or specialists.
Advanced Practitioners provide appropriate treatment for problems within the scope of the provider's practice as designated by protocols and identifies problems outside of their scope of practice and refers appropriately to physician.
