The Organizational Change Management (OCM) & Communications Lead plays a critical leadership role within the SAP S/4HANA Transformation Program, driving the people side of change across a multi-year enterprise business transformation. This position is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive change management, communication, stakeholder engagement, and adoption strategies that enable successful business outcomes and sustainable organizational readiness.

As a key member of the S/4HANA Program Team, the OCM & Communications Lead will partner closely with executive leadership, business stakeholders, functional leaders, and project teams to ensure employees are prepared, informed, engaged, and equipped throughout the transformation journey. This leader will oversee a team of change management and communications professionals while promoting a culture of adaptability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in Change Management Methodologies, organizational readiness, stakeholder engagement, training and adoption strategies, and executive communications.

Travel: Occasional travel up to 20% may be required for stakeholder engagement, workshops, training sessions, and program activities.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Organizational Change Management Leadership
  • Develop and execute the organizational change management strategy supporting enterprise-wide SAP S/4HANA transformation initiatives.
  • Apply industry-recognized change management methodologies and frameworks (such as Prosci ADKAR or similar approaches) to drive successful adoption and business readiness.
  • Conduct change impact assessments, organizational readiness assessments, stakeholder analyses, and risk evaluations to proactively address barriers to success.
  • Develop actionable mitigation plans to address resistance, increase stakeholder buy-in, and foster a culture of change agility.

Stakeholder Engagement & Business Partnership
  • Build trusted relationships with executive leaders, business stakeholders, functional teams, and program leadership.
  • Facilitate alignment between business objectives and program outcomes through active stakeholder engagement and influence.
  • Serve as the primary advisor on change-related risks, readiness concerns, and adoption opportunities.
  • Lead OCM workshops, feedback sessions, and engagement activities to ensure business needs are understood and addressed.

Communications Strategy & Execution
  • Develop and execute integrated communication strategies that support awareness, understanding, engagement, and commitment throughout the transformation lifecycle.
  • Create targeted communication plans for diverse stakeholder groups, including executive leadership, managers, functional teams, and end users.
  • Ensure messaging is clear, consistent, timely, and aligned with program objectives and organizational priorities.
  • Prepare and deliver executive-level presentations and program updates for senior leadership and C-suite audiences.

Training, Readiness & Adoption
  • Partner with business and training leads to develop and execute learning and readiness strategies.
  • Establish frameworks for measuring change adoption, user readiness, training effectiveness, and business engagement.
  • Monitor change adoption metrics, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions to improve end-user adoption and overall program success.
  • Support the development of training materials, role-based learning plans, and reinforcement activities.

Team Leadership
  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of change management and communications professionals.
  • Foster a collaborative, results-oriented environment focused on continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Establish team priorities, manage workload distribution, and ensure high-quality deliverables across all areas of responsibility.

Program Governance & Execution
  • Partner with PMO leadership to integrate change management activities into overall program planning and execution.
  • Track and report progress against change management objectives, milestones, risks, and key performance indicators.
  • Ensure alignment of OCM activities with program governance, project schedules, and business objectives.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Organizational Development, Human Resources, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 8+ years of experience leading organizational change management, communications, and business transformation initiatives within complex IT programs.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting large-scale ERP, digital transformation, or SAP S/4HANA implementations.
  • Previous people leadership experience with a proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate high-performing teams.
  • Strong understanding of organizational change management principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Experience conducting stakeholder analysis, change impact assessments, organizational readiness assessments, and adoption planning.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and executive communication skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across all organizational levels.
  • Experience developing and executing communication, training, and engagement strategies.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Deep understanding of both business operations and IT environments.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Change Management certification (Prosci, CCMP, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Experience supporting SAP S/4HANA transformation programs or other enterprise ERP implementations.
  • Knowledge and experience with Signavio process modeling, business process transformation, or process improvement initiatives.
  • Experience establishing and tracking change adoption metrics, KPIs, and business readiness indicators.
  • Demonstrated success leading digital transformation and enterprise change initiatives.
  • Strong facilitation, workshop leadership, and executive engagement skills.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-focused communications.
  • Passion for continuous learning and staying current with industry trends, change management practices, and emerging technologies.
