About The Role:

The Sr. Oracle Application Functional/Technical Specialist, under limited supervision, provides advanced system support for Oracle R E-business Suite and related third-party applications acting as an internal Functional/Technical resource. This includes, but is not limited to, gathering business requirements, design and maintenance of business applications, application configuration, systems testing and end-user production support. The Sr. Oracle Application Functional/Technical Specialist resource will provide functional support to the business, should have a solid understanding of the business processes and how they relate to the supported business applications. Sr. OAT Functional resource should research system functionality and operations in a clear and concise manner using analytical and problem-solving skills. Sr. Oracle Application Functional/Technical Specialist should try to anticipate business partner's questions and seek solutions with regular updates to the business partners and Corporate Business Systems Management. Technical skills are required to understand the table structures using basic to advanced SQL select statements, provide adequate issue resolution with detailed documentation. This employee has heavy contact with other company departments, as well as outside vendors in support of international IT operations.
  • Plan, organize and direct the implementation and/or development of supported applications in accordance with strategic business plans and industry standards on multiple large projects
  • Responsible for analyzing and resolving functional/technical problems of supported applications and user needs
  • Document the requirements, implement solutions following the GMF Software Development Lifecycle methodology
  • Revise existing systems as necessary
  • Revise or modify procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operation time and form of desired results
  • Assist with the creation, documentation and execution of test scripts for supported systems
  • Research, implement and document solutions to issues identified during testing
  • Monitor scheduled application interfaces and provide issue resolution
  • Interface with software vendors and suppliers in support of business applications
  • Coordinate with program development teams on software interfaces used by supported business applications
  • Provide direction to and mentor other teammates
  • Communicate with management and business partners on business systems and project status
  • Work closely with internal business units to facilitate project completion

  • Advanced knowledge of information technology systems, infrastructure and operations
  • Advanced working knowledge of information systems and operations systems for supported business groups
  • Knowledge of GM Financial's core business functions
  • Knowledge of security methodologies, policies, standards and best practices
  • Knowledgeable of best practices in information technology governance and regulatory landscape for financial institutions
  • Significant experience in a large and complex business environment
  • Working knowledge of the Corporate Business solution environment
  • Strong in the use of Microsoft Office software including strong ability to analyze data using Excel for reporting and data mining purposes
  • Strong people skills including the ability to interact with employees at all levels
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to meet expected delivery dates and the tasks necessary to achieve objectives
  • Advanced ability to create and work RFC and SR tickets with Oracle on Demand, Oracle Managed Cloud Services and Oracle Support
  • Advanced computer skills and conversance in information technology issues
  • Advanced experience with data visualization concepts and tools
  • Knowledge of Oracle ERP Cloud Financials (GL, AP, BPM, SLA, FA, PAY, CE, iExp, AR Lite, RMC, OTBI Reporting and FCCS) preferred
  • Knowledge of EDMCS preferred

Education and Experience:
  • 5-7 years of experience implementing and supporting ERP systems for the Finance modules required
  • 3-5 years of leadership of project track and deliverables required
  • Greater than 10 years of implementation and support on ERP system as a functional resource preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work or military experience preferred
