Job Description

The Oracle Financials Functional Architect serves as the domain authority for Badger's Financials platform, owning end-to-end solution design, configuration, and continuous improvement. This senior individual contributor partners closely with Finance to translate business requirements into scalable system solutions while maintaining alignment with Oracle best practices. This role holds accountability for the configuration and optimization of General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Cash Management, and Expenses. The Functional Architect establishes design standards, governs quarterly Oracle updates, and approves material configuration changes prior to production, ensuring system integrity, scalability, and long-term maintainability.

The compensation for this position will be commensurate with education or work experience.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with business process owners and key users, serving as the primary functional and solution contact.
  • Translates business requirements into functional specifications deliverable through configuration, workflow changes, or integrations while minimizing customization.
  • Monitors Oracle product roadmap and recommends new capabilities to the business.
  • Owns functional design, configuration, and documentation as living assets.
  • Collaborates across domains to ensure alignment where data and processes intersect.
  • Owns modules including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Cash Management, and Expenses.
  • Approves and reviews configuration changes related to financial modules including subledger accounting rules, chart of accounts, approval workflows, and integration mappings.


What You'll Need for Success:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, information systems, or related field preferred; equivalent professional experience accepted.
  • Demonstrates 7+ years of experience in Oracle Fusion Financials with deep expertise in General Ledger and core transactional modules.
  • Demonstrates expertise in financial processes including close cycles, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Holds Oracle Cloud Financials Implementation certification (preferred).
  • The role requires mobility within work environments, use of office equipment, lifting up to 20 pounds, clear vision and hearing, effective communication skills, and occasional travel for meetings and training sessions.
