Job Description

A day in the life of an Operations Leader in the Air Transport Circuit Card Assembly team consists of executing day-to-day operations by leading our hourly workforce and being available to be the first level of elevation for the team. The Operations Leader is 100% responsible for product flow in order to meet and exceed both our internal and external customers' needs. The ideal leader will know how to bring out the best in our employees while helping navigate difficult times. This is a 100% on-site position.

2nd Shift Operations Leader : 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm Mon- Fri
  • Ensuring that all employees are working safely, according to work instructions, and following priorities in a union environment.
  • Challenging the team in order to continue to grow individually and as a team.
  • Mentoring and coaching is necessary for this role, as it is important for every team member to understand the "why" and be able to see the bigger picture, strategy, and vision.
  • Strong communication skills as this position will not only provide work direction to the team, but also provides shift hand-offs with other Operation Leaders, status/commits to Customers, Program Managers, Product Center Leaders, and more.
  • Able to manage multiple projects, multiple deadlines, assuring schedules are defined and met, to prioritize work appropriately to meet commitments.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Intermediate-level technical skills and knowledge of technical requirements and system flow skills relevant to job / area of work

As a successful candidate, you will work as part of a cross-functional team to provide technical support on process improvement in Circuit Card and Electronic Unit manufacturing.
  • Support investigations to determine root cause of defects and provide corrective actions - (RCCA)
  • Identify technical solutions to address quality issues
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement
  • Application of Lean and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Drive KPI (Key Process Indicators) improvements revolving around Safety, Quality, Efficiency, Utilization and execution of customer demand at the department level.
  • Understand cost impact of process challenges and provide root cause and corrective actions.
  • Ability to work proficiently with computer-based systems
  • Passion for solving challenges within a teaming environment

Required Skills and Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Operational Leadership, Engineering, industrial, mechanical, electrical, systems, engineering, or other equivalent experience.
  • 4 years of related work experience in production/manufacturing/operations/engineering or similar environment.
  • Highly analytical with high level troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work 2nd shift
  • Ability to lead in a team-based manufacturing environment and make decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Previous experience supervising employees.


Preferred Skills and Education

  • Experience utilizing lean manufacturing concepts with a proven record of accomplishment of lean/six sigma implementation.
  • Experience utilizing business systems and tools that aid in managing labor, processes, and budgets.
