Job summary:

The Leader Emergency Vehicles OpEx Leader will focus on leading continuous improvement projects that support Leader Emergency Vehicles' business goals through the Goal Deployment Process (GDP). Improvement projects will involve departments such as Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, and Operations.

The OpEx Leader will facilitate improved process outcomes to drive efficiencies, reduce costs, and increase customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:
  • The OpEx Leaders will work with their direct manager on improvement projects.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects through focused Kaizens to achieve measured results and targeted hard savings.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to eliminate waste, troubleshoot manufacturing and assembly issues, material flow, and informational inputs that may lead to inefficiencies.
  • Coach and train both hourly and salaried employees on any specific related OpEx improvements.
  • Help support and develop a culture that promotes operational excellence and continuous improvements.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate the scope of projects and report to upper management with weekly status reports.
  • Coordinate, monitor, and drive project activities, manage project risks, issues, changes, and resources, and take corrective actions when necessary. Decides and initiates action.
  • Provides the project team with a clear sense of direction, motivating and empowering them to initiate sustainable improvements to their current processes and work environments.
  • Build teamwork through engagement and align team members by trying to achieve individual and collective goals.
  • Evaluate and close the project, identify and analyze lessons learned, archive project documents, and hand over the project to the customer and/or process owner.
  • Provide insights regarding quantitative and qualitative developments using periodic reports and/or analyses

  • Bachelor's degree, preference for Engineering, technical or finance-related degrees or 5-10 years of experience in Operations
  • Solid awareness of operations and business processes.
  • Passion for change and continuous improvement; must be self-motivated, have initiative, and have a positive attitude.
  • Able to train and impart knowledge to others and to learn quickly
  • Proven ability to plan and prioritize work through basic project management skills

The pay scale for newly hired employees in this position at this location in California is <$72,500 or between $72,500 - $117,500>. This is based on meeting all of the requirements of the role. The base pay offered for the role may vary depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. We are proud to offer competitive benefits in addition to competitive pay. Our pay for performance philosophy allows top performers to earn more based on their continued success.
