What We Are Looking For

The operations supervisor is responsible for the safe, efficient operation and reliability of compressors, processing plant, measurement practices, and compliance with safety and environmental policies.

What You Will Do
• Inspect all aspects of operations within assigned area.
• Maintain work schedules and on-call schedules for assigned area.
• Review daily reports for accuracy.
• Make callouts as needed to keep operations running and uninterrupted as much as possible.
• Schedule pipeline pigging operations.
• Report all safety and environmental issues to manager.
• Understand and develop good safety habits.
• Take care of company vehicle and equipment.
• Maintain a safe work environment. Wear proper PPE for the task and set a good example for others.
• Seek new, more efficient ways of doing things.
• Support maintenance group with help where needed (i.e., running parts and having equipment ready for service and/or repair).
• Develop the employees' skills to increase the area's operating performance, such as safety, environmental, regulatory, operations, maintenance, equipment, facilities, and team participation.
• Keep lines of communication open between direct reports and other company personnel.
• Develop a cost-effective approach to doing business.
• Ensure that all DOT records and inspection are current and up to date.
• Help in other areas of the business as needed.
• Report all excessive downtime to appropriate people.
• Complete appropriate documentation and paperwork.
• Maintain company vehicle in good operating condition.
• Assist with managing yearly budgets and capital projects.
• Keep safety in the forefront of every task performed.

What You Need

Education and/or experience:
• High school degree or equivalent.
• General knowledge of compressor stations, gathering system, and processing plant operations.
• Working knowledge of mechanical equipment.
• Knowledge and experience in safe handling practices of flammable gases, liquids, and high pressure systems.
• Follows company policies, practices, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Customer orientation.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the company and outside contractors.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals).
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out day-to-day operation issues.
• Ability to make quick and reasonable decisions in sometimes-adverse conditions.

Certificates, licenses, registrations:
• Valid state operating license with a driving record insurable under company insurance policy.

• Uses physical force to lift, push, pull and hold equipment/tools.
• Climbs and works at various heights. May work in a standing, sitting, lying down, crouched or kneeling position.
• Routinely reacts to visual, aural and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work.
• Regularly bends, stoops, moves from ground level to higher levels, raises/lifts from ground level a load up to 50 lbs., manually transports a load up to 75 lbs., and applies up to 150 pounds of torque.
• Regularly gets into and out of vehicles and rides over rough roads.
• Walks an average of 5 miles per day, up to 7 miles per day.
• Candidates may be subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and alcohol testing requirements
• Subject to overtime and callouts.

• Wears safety equipment as required.
