Full Job Description
About the Role

As a key member of Forus' Operations team, you'll be responsible for the execution, performance, and continuous improvement of a core part of our business. You'll lead a frontline team, own measurable outcomes, and work closely with engineering to optimize workflows and implement automation - including AI-powered tools - that scale our impact.

This role is central to ensuring every patient and provider we support experiences fast, reliable, and high-quality service. You'll combine analytical problem-solving with hands-on execution to deliver operational excellence, while continuously improving systems and processes as we grow.

This is a high-ownership role that blends strategic thinking with execution intensity. You'll have autonomy, visibility, and the opportunity to shape how Forus delivers at scale. If you are low-ego, data-driven, and energized by building systems that make complex operations run beautifully - we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do
  • Own performance and outcomes across a core operational function - including throughput, quality, and reliability
  • Lead and develop a frontline team, setting clear goals, managing performance, and building a culture of accountability and excellence
  • Design and improve processes, training, and quality systems to ensure consistency, scalability, and high impact
  • Use data to drive insights and decisions - identifying gaps, diagnosing issues, and implementing solutions that improve performance and efficiency
  • Partner closely with engineering to design, test, and roll out automation and workflow improvements (including AI-powered tools and low/no-code prototypes)
  • Deliver an exceptional experience for patients and providers through operational rigor and empathy
  • Collaborate with leadership to inform strategy, forecast capacity, and shape how Forus scales intelligently over time
We'll Be Most Excited If You Have
  • 2-8 years of experience in operations, consulting, finance, or another analytical, outcome-oriented environment (startup experience a plus)
  • Proven track record of owning metrics and driving measurable improvement across operational functions
  • Experience building or managing high-performing teams and scaling workflows
  • Strong analytical and technical fluency - comfort working with data; bonus for SQL, automation tools, or AI-driven systems
  • A bias for action: you move fast, simplify complexity, and find leverage through systems and tools
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a reputation for being a high-NPS teammate
  • A mindset of ownership, curiosity, and continuous improvement

This is a list of ideal qualifications for this position. If you don't meet every single one of them, you should still consider applying! We're excited to work with people from underrepresented backgrounds, and we encourage people from all backgrounds to apply.

Working with us

Forus is based in New York, with our full team working out of a beautiful and spacious office in SoHo.

  • Spit it out. Speak directly, invite critique, avoid equivocation. We want right answers, not comfortable ones.
  • Raise the bar together. Hold a high standard for execution, push each other directly, and win as a team.

We provide competitive compensation with meaningful equity (for full-time employees). Everyone who joins early will be a major contributor to our success, and we reflect this through ownership and pay.

We also provide rich benefits to ensure you can focus on creating impact (for full-time employees):

  • 401K plan setup, FSA option, commuter benefits, and DashPass.
  • Lunch at the office every day and Dinner at the office after 7 pm.

Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our company's size and industry, and are one part of the total compensation package that also includes equity, benefits, and other opportunities at Forus (for full-time employees).
