Full Job Description
The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for full-time GS-14, Operation Research Specialist at Pentagon in Washington, D.C.

This is an interdisciplinary position and may be filled by qualified candidates in the following occupations: Computer Engineer, GS-0854-14; Electronics Engineer, GS-0855-14; Operations Research Analyst, GS-1515-14; and Computer Scientist GS-1550-14.

Base Salary Range: $ 143,913 - $ 187,093

Looking for individuals who possess comprehensive experience and demonstrated mastery in one or more specialist areas, such as engineering, mathematics, statistical analysis, modeling and simulation, or scientific concepts. Performs board range of AI Machine Learning and Data Science Analysis. Utilizes scientific inquiry for independent development of policy, guidance and integration initiatives to support assigned projects.

Qualifications/Requirements:

U.S. Citizenships Required.

This is a designated Drug Testing Position.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance.

Must have a bachelor's degree in a related discipline such as computer or electronics engineering, computer science, or mathematics. A master's degree in a technical related field is highly desired.

Previous government or private sector experience with research, development and delivery of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Data Science initiatives is highly desired.

Professional knowledge and mastery of a broad range of engineering, mathematics, statistical analysis, modeling/simulation, and/or other scientific concepts, principles, standards, methods, techniques, practices, and procedures.

Knowledge of agency, SOF, DoD and national-level doctrine, regulations, policies, guidelines, requirements, and initiatives related to assigned program(s) and/or project(s).

Ability to effectively organize and analyze information; produce authoritative reports, position papers, and briefings that are responsive to the specific needs of commanders and senior management officials; present clear and concise findings; and effectively advocate for a position.

Skill, judgment, resourcefulness, originality, and ability to foresee the impact of changing technology and in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to identify, investigate, and resolve complex issues or problems.

Knowledge of security procedures to maintain control of classified material.
