JOB DESCRIPTION
Gems Setra is seeking a results-driven, people-focused Operations Manager to lead manufacturing operations and drive performance across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity (SQDIP). This role leads supervisors, professional staff, and operations support teams while owning execution, resource planning, and performance for assigned value streams.
The Operations Manager will develop front-line leaders, improve operational performance, and lead continuous improvement initiatives while partnering across Engineering, Quality, Materials, Supply Chain, Commercial, Finance, and HR. What You'll Do- Lead daily manufacturing execution across safety, quality, delivery, inventory, cost, productivity, and engagement.
- Manage and develop supervisors, professional staff, and operations support teams while driving accountability for SQDIP results.
- Plan labor, staffing, overtime, shifts, resources, and production capacity to meet customer and business demands.
- Drive Daily Management, KPI rigor, visual controls, leader standard work, and operational accountability.
- Champion a proactive safety and quality culture while ensuring compliance with company, regulatory, and quality requirements.
- Lead Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and Ralliant Business System (RBS) initiatives to eliminate waste, improve capacity, and strengthen standard work.
- Apply structured problem-solving at the gemba to address recurring production, quality, delivery, and process issues.
- Manage budgets, labor efficiency, productivity, cost-out initiatives, throughput, capacity, inventory, and working capital.
- Build leadership capability through coaching, cross-training, succession planning, and career development.
- Partner cross-functionally to improve material flow, production readiness, NPI, launches, and customer commitments.
- Identify and escalate operational, quality, safety, and business risks while driving sustainable improvements.
- Partner with HR and site leadership on hiring, retention, engagement, performance management, and workforce development.
- Benchmark and implement best practices across Ralliant operating companies.
What You'll BringRequired:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Business, or related field.
- 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, value streams, and cross-functional business processes.
- Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, cost analysis, and P&L understanding.
- Proven ability to develop, coach, and hold leaders accountable for performance.
- Advanced problem-solving skills using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems, production planning, and material flow.
- Strong communication, change management, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
Preferred:
- Experience with high-mix, low-to-medium volume manufacturing.
- Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent operational excellence certification.
- Experience in sensor, instrumentation, industrial, or electronic manufacturing.
