Job Summary:

The College of Business is seeking an Operations Manager. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position.

The Operations Manager provides leadership and oversight for the day-to-day operations, facilities, and academic support services of the College of Business. This position manages College space and facilities, oversees Faculty Services, supervises staff and student employees, manages operational resources and budgets, and leads projects that support the College's instructional, research, and administrative missions. Working collaboratively with College leadership, university partners, vendors, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders, the Operations Manager uses independent judgment to anticipate needs, resolve complex operational issues, and ensure effective and equitable use of College resources.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead College facilities and space management, including planning, allocation, maintenance, emergency preparedness, and operational improvements across multiple locations.
  • Manage and oversee Faculty Services operations, ensuring timely, high-quality support for faculty, visitors, academic activities, and College events.
  • Supervise, develop, and support Faculty Services staff and student employees, fostering an inclusive environment and opportunities for professional growth.
  • Manage operational resources and budgets, including facilities, supplies, space, equipment, and other College operational needs.
  • Lead and coordinate facilities, operations, and academic services projects, working with College leadership, university partners, contractors, and other stakeholders to achieve project goals.
  • Oversee operational systems, processes, and data that support effective College operations, including space, facilities, inventory, access, and institutional reporting.
  • Serve as a key operational partner to College leadership, using independent judgment to anticipate needs, resolve complex issues, and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of College operations.


Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Business Management/Operations, Human Resource Management or related field with five or more years of supervisory and management experience with budget responsibilities in an organization with diverse elements. Experience as manager includes responsibilities for providing operational excellence and delivering quality customer service.
  • Experience coordinating with other support services (e.g., marketing, HR, IT).
  • Ability to work in a team setting as a leader for a responsive and diverse set of professionals.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and resolve problems.
  • Self-motivated/directed and willing to take on any tasks that might arise.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills (both written and verbal); ability to utilize inclusive language and communicate across cultural boundaries.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • High computer proficiency in MS office applications and database applications; an ability and willingness to learn new programs & applications quickly.
  • Experience managing data collection and input, generating reports and analyzing results through an inclusive lens.
  • Demonstrated project management experience with responsibility for meeting budget, schedule and scope parameters.
  • Demonstrated success in improving/implementing processes and services; ability to review processes and services for improvement to ensure accessibility and inclusivity.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks & responsibilities, prioritize appropriately, pay careful attention to details, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain professional decorum and show a high level of diplomacy with all clients served, regardless of background.


This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.

Preferred Qualifications:

Working Conditions/Schedule:
Normal work schedule is 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday, but evening/weekend hours will be needed intermittently to support facilities work, projects and/or high-volume work periods. Occasional travel may be required as needed to manage facilities and projects.

Salary Range:

$79,600-$87,900
